Elizabeth Taylor, aged 79, and winner of two Oscars has died.
She was one of the most beautiful actresses to grace the screen and had a tempestuous off-screen life as well.
She will be missed.

In the land of the blind, the one-arm man is king.
Fairly shocking despite her age. She seemed almost timeless at this point. She really was one of the great beauties of all time.
I was just coming here to post this. Thinking about her really highlights the lack of glamour in Hollywood these days.
Maybe a bit, Jim, but come on, no one these days comes close to this
Myrnalene must be crying her ass off right now.
We're all gonna watch Cleopatra next time we're hungover.
She was certainly an icon, though never quite my cup of tea in the acting department.
Not a lot of those Old Hollywood types left these days.
I hadn't realized until today that three of her four children are older than my mother. It's strange to think about someone old enough to be my grandmother doing all the things she did, like being one of the first celebrities to advocate for victims of HIV/AIDS.
RIP Liz.

Yeah, Old Hollywood is really slipping away...the next generation won't really know about any of these stars.
She was definitely a Great Movie Star, and a beautiful woman, but I never cared for her much as an actress.
I remember Jimmy Carter telling a story about how, not that long before he became President, he was seated next to her at a dinner party and was simply stunned by her beauty. She talked to him at some length and then asked him a question, and he said, "I'm sorry, Miss Taylor, but I don't think I heard a word you just said...."
Her charitable work is very much to her credit. May she rest in peace.
