We've got plans to see it with friends this afternoon. I've seen trailers and it seems like an animated version of The Stepford Wives. I'm just wondering if that's accurate, and what your impressions were.

There is more than one way to burn a book. And the world is full of people running about with lit matches. -- Ray Bradbury's "Coda"
I haven't seen it, but my son took the sprouts (5 and 9) to see it and he said it was really, really good. I'd like to see it, but I think the 3-D version of it left town.
Heh, no, that's not accurate at all. We saw it opening weekend (in 3D) and it was really good. Good storytelling, great animation--just really really beautiful--and some moments of genuine fear/tension as well as subtle moments of pathos. Also, all the voice actors nailed their parts.Originally posted by MsRobyn
I'm still swimming in harmony. I'm still dreaming of flight. I'm still lost in the waves night after night...

Saw it with my 8 year old in 2D and quite liked it -- may go to see it in a 3D theatre. I was curious, though -- it seemed like parts has been left on the cutting room floor -- like a reference to "the accident wasn't my fault" that wasnt' followed up on, and so forth. Does anyone have any info about the history of the movie?
We saw it this afternoon in 3D. It was a beautifully-done movie, and although it wasn't my cup of tea, genre-wise, I still liked it. It really wasn't like The Stepford Wives at all.

This was a fantastic movie. The book had genuinely creeped me out and I was worried the movie wouldn't hold up well with the changes that were made, but it stood on its own.
I liked it as well and I am a little disappointed I wasn't able to see it in 3D.
I don't think so, therefore I'm probably not.
Yeah, I would have liked seeing it in 3D.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.
Yeah, kid and I also managed to see it in 2-D, and despite best attempts never got back to it in a 3-D theatre. It really was a movie made with 3-D in mind. Quite a few 3-D movies, it really doesn't make that much difference.
