Default I'm so excited about my new bathroom!

My husband is about one day's work away from being finished remodeling our downstairs bathroom. It was a rather worn-out room, last remodeled in the 80s, and he gutted it to the rafters, ran new pipes and electric, put in the drywall and the floor and wall tile, and even found an antique bathtub on Craig's list. The only thing he didn't do himself was refinish the inside of the tub. You can see what it looks like in the pictures below, and you can see the part that needs to be done is that the shower & shower curtain pipes have to be installed. The thing the towels are hanging on is actually a towel warmer...this room never had any heat source, so he installed a warmer that he could tap into the radiator system, so now it's heated and looks pretty and I'm so so so happy.

Your bathtub is GORGEOUS. And I love that color scheme - that shade of blue is a particular favorite of mine.

    Congrats!

Thank, everyone! I am SO proud of my husband...he really did an amazing job. And he designed the whole thing, too...all the tile work and everything. It's hard to believe a few months ago, it was just rafters and studs.

He designed it, too? Dang. Are you going to make him remodel your house room by room until you have a castle?

Ha ha, well, it's way too small to be a castle. But he actually has designed it and remodeled it room by room. He's refinished woodwork, installed fireplaces, put in wainscoting and missing trim, he's restored walls and closets where they were taken out and closed up doors that were put in. He's fixed the plaster and/or drywalled the walls and ceilings. He's replaced pretty much all the plumbing now and a lot of the electric. When we moved in, I didn't even know he could do all this stuff (I mean, seriously...he works in IT), and he's basically turned my scrubby little house into a really lovely home. It amazes me whenever I look around at it!

I love that style (haven't a clue what it's called) of the white tiles halfway up the walls. It's really classy imho.

Yeah, I liked how that turned out, too. We were trying to make it look vintage-y to match the age of the house, and thought those rectangular tiles would fit the bill. Then it was my husband's idea to do the thing where he fit them around the mirror, and I thought that looked very custom, like it was professionally designed.

Those towell warmers are wonderful. A toasty towell on a cold morning is something few american know but was fairly common is Scotland and I believe Englabd too.

The bathroom looks great. I wish I was that good, but my skills seem to be more along the lines of rebuilding / building furniture & toys. My bathrooms need to be redone and I am not reaaly up to it.
