So here I am, reading the new posts, minding my own business. I finish reading the last batch (I'm a fast reader, apparently) and I click on the new posts button. And do you know what I get?

Sorry that is my fault. I never found time to tweak the search engine and had to keep it at 15 seconds to keep the site working cleanly. Otherwise we have all those timeouts and search failures and then you just had to wait another 10 seconds to do your search.

It was at least 15 seconds and maybe as high as 30, but my post was a joke for the other refugees from the Dope.

Domebo Search was actually broken for a while and I finally did get it working well over there. This search has worked pretty well from the start with few issues and the 15 seconds is actually less than the default.

Now any changes are up to Zuul and CatInASuit.

If you typically click on the new posts button, open up a thread, read the new post, and then move back to the new posts button all in fourteen seconds or less, I can see how this wait time could be a problem.

But exactly how frequently does that happen?
