    Sure. If he had made a habit out of it, he should face jail time for all of those offenses. In this case, since he only drugged and raped one little girl, he should only go to prison for one rape.

    So, after 30 years of opportunity, but with no further related scandals, you'd still be willing to throw a 76 year old man to the wolves? You know prison could likely kill a man like Polanski.

    How long do you think he should get then?

    So, he deserves clemency on the basis of illegally avoiding serving his prison term for 30 years? His punishment of living in luxury in France for 30 years is somehow adequate?


    How long do you think he should get then?
    Whatever he gets sentenced to.

    Is the bolded bit important to you? Say he'd been a plumber and went off to Mexico and spent 30 years setting up a new life and trying to forget about his past? Would you still think at 76 he should spend his final years behind bars?

    Something I haven't noticed yet is details on how long after the incident it was reported? Anyone got ready access to that information?
