Hey - it's Darth Sensitive under a second account. I'm looking for a post I made on the old board before it got migrated. Would anybody be able to help me track it down? Was about the birth of my stillborn brother in July 2009.

Hello! Not really used to these Internet forum thingies, but life would be dull if we never tried anything new, eh? On the way home, playing with the WiFi on the train and seeing what Google throws up. What's the form?

Welcome! There isn't much in the way of form; conversations are loosely organized into forums, but nobody gets especially worked up if you put something in the "wrong" forum.

A good idea is just to click on the "New Posts" button on the top toolbar, and see if any of the recent or ongoing threads interests you. If none of them do, feel free to start a new thread, either by asking a question, or making an absurd pronouncement. It's what we do here!

We got thrown up by Google?

(Now why doesn't that surprise me?)

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

Would it be a little too narcissistic to do a 20 questions thing and see if anyone can figure out my SDMB identity?

No fair peeking at my e-mail address, now.

Fire away. I'll fail miserably, unless you're Der Trihs or OpalCat or someone similarly obvious, but I'd love a try.

Really, this forum is like a frat boy's studio apartment; there's a designated place to poop, but beyond that, it's pretty homogenous. Nobody really cares if you sleep on the couch, or point the TV towards the dinner table.

I have been referred to this board by Tom.

I am an ultra-liberal seeking early membership into the AARP. My life's happiness comes from trash culture, inappropriate crafting, thrift stores, terrible movies based on video games, late 80's pop music and R&B, and you know, other stuff.

I have a Divine stamp from Pink Flamingos so that, this xmas, I can give out sets of cards for people you've hate.

"YOU'VE BEEN CONVICTED OF 1ST DEGREE ASSHOLISM" they will declare on the front and on the inside of the card - leopard printed background with punched out hot pink palmtree border - Divine will declare "THE SENTENCE IS DEATH"

Because cards should be given for mean occassions!

I also want to knit a sweater someday that depicts the ultimate scene in Orca: Killer Whale where Orca leaps into a house and eats a character's leg.

    etc etc

Welcome Panther Squad we range from Very-Liberal to many moderate Dems to at least one reformed ex-Republican Green and one actual conservative but oddly extreme atheist. In other words we're all over the spectrum.

I like crafting but for me it is pretty much making wooden toys.

Yeah. Toms' been bugging me to join. I don't exactly hasten to join internet stuff. I have this problem with seeing blatant racism, discrimination, etc. You know, like how everyone should have. Except people online don't use that filter they have in real life that says "gee, it's probably not a good idea to declare in public that I wouldn't date [ethnic minority in my country/area] here because someone MIGHT BEAT ME UP."

Also, a place where comparative surveys between Jackson singles is accepted has a place in my heart.

Yeah this place trends pretty white but it's also like 98% queer, so we're excruciatingly sensitive to the concerns of all possibly minority groups. Tom may well be the only straight person here.

Mortal Kombat, BloodRayne, DOA, excited for the Tekken movie, upset i missed live action Dragonball in the theatres terrible.

If it has martial arts and ridiculous costuming it's probably a guarantee that I'll enjoy it.

edit: I'm the person who was mad that their DOA DVD did not have any deleted scenes. I know there are fighting scenes that weren't included in the final cut!

Zuul invited me over, which I found terribly flattering. There were certainly no threats of blackmail or bodily harm. I am most definitely not currently tied to a chair with a gun pointed at my head. Any rumors to that end are vicious lies.

You can call me Peeta. I'm a college sophomore and cursed with enough self-awareness to know that I am more mature than most of my peers and also an arrogant asshole. However, beneath this thin veneer of contempt directed towards anyone and everyone I am a big sentimental marshmallow and prone to sniffling over commercials.

I can generally be induced into epic annoyance by the misuse of science to support one's personal biases, cruelty to animals, and those who find cake superior to pie. I can be enticed to ramble excitedly on at great length by discussions of evolution, lame jokes, and inappropriately personal questions. My hobbies include building houses with Lincoln Logs, collecting moss and fantasizing about what I'd do if I was a billionaire mad scientist.

    Hi.

Hi Peeta. Lincoln Logs are pretty awesome. I loved building huge log mansions with wonky roofs.

Hopefully you'll like it enough here that when you are a mad scientist, you'll warn us before unleashing your hordes of radioactive, flesh-eating revenants. I'll need a week or two to prepare.

Actually most pie is kind of gross. The only allowable kind of pies are:

    Pumpkin
    French Silk
    Hair
    Humble
    Chicken Pot
    4 and 20 Blackbird Surprise
