If there is any interest, I'm thinking of running a quick / easy Mafia game that we played in chat with Vox. Works like this:
Roles:
King
3 or 4 Guards
Assassin
The object is pretty simple - if you are the King you want to stay alive, if you are a Guard you want to protect the King by killing the Assassin, if you are the Assassin you want to kill the King.
The Guards know who the King is, but they do not know who the Assassin is or who the other Guards are. The King and the Assassin do not know who any of the other roles are.
Each Day will be 24 hours. During the day, everyone will decide who to lynch. Remember, if you are a Guard you want to make it as hard as possible for the Assassin to figure out who the King is, so don't show your hand by never voting for the King. At the end of the Day the votes will be counted, a player lynched and their role revealed. If the player was the King, the game is over and the Assassin wins. If it was a Guard, we start the next Day (there are no Nights in this game). If the player was the Assassin, the King is almost safe and the game won - but WAIT! The Assassin has the power to strike out with his last bit of strength and instantly kill one player. If that player turns out to be the King, the Assassin still wins.
Pros to this game - Super short and easy. I'm not a Mafia player and I get really turned off by pages and pages of tl;dr strategizing. I'm sure there would be some discussion in this game, but due to the short player list and shorter time frame it should be much less complicated.
Cons to this game - I would be running it and may or may not know what I am doing.
Anyone want to give it a shot?
