I'm having problems replying if I hit the Reply button. The cursor won't go into the text box. Quick reply works okay, though.

Ok, I don't have a lot of time the rest of the week for this, but a couple things:
1. I cannot upload an avatar. I can click on custom, but each one I try results in "upload failed".
2. I can't see anyone else's avatar.
3. I still have thick green lines between posts (on Safari on a MacBook).
4. No idea where chat is (most likely won't use, so no biggie).
5. I don't know, but I'll think of something else...
Don't rush to fix any of this. Obviously one only has to post pics of Captain Kirk or film Aragorn and I'm here to stay.
I see your Avatar. I set your member setting to display images & avatars. That was under your option on the control panel link.
The avatar upload should work for you. Make sure you check off the Use custom avatar. Load the image location or browse to the one on your computer and then hit Save Changes.

Ok, I feel very, very stupid now.... But not that stupid, because I did click on custom avatar etc--I just didn't have the option turned on for all avatars.

First, I love the Twitter bird on the front of the forum. Adds color and is very cool. And I like that you're using Twitter. Neat idea!

Before I logged in, I checked my poll (Walmart Shoppers).
I could see the pictures on the page.
After I logged in, I could only see the links.
Odd.

Does the site go offline for backup around 20:00 - 20:30 PDT? I've been unable to access the site quite a few times in the last week. I'm not sure but I think it seems to be happening around the same time.
That is possible. We are hosted on Elmwood's server and he might being doing his backups at that time that would cause access issues.
I'm getting threads as having new posts when I select "New Posts" when there hasn't been a new post added.
If they are polls, that is a feature of polls where they appear updated on every vote.
If it is elsewhere, it should only be happening when the last post was no more than an hour ago and appears to be a small time window for threads to get updated with your read status.

Chat has broken for me. I can still enter in the text box, but it doesn't load the chat window at all. In any of my browsers. Whatever the change, it has happened since I was last in chat (about 19 hours ago from this post).
Something tells me we haven't seen the last of foreshadowing.
Have you tried dumping your cache? Also, I believe elmwood updated it last night.
I was having the same problem, but it seems to be working now for me.
Flushing my cache in IE7 did the job. You might want to start a separate thread for this as I imagine others are having issues. That will help people more than this thread.
Weird thing.
I haven't been here for a while and in the meantime my main computer has crashed and burned - or at least developed a hardware problem that causes it to sit and contemplate its cybernetic navel for half an hour after each mouse click or text character entry.
So, after seven years of using Vista on the laptop I finally did as I intended from the beginning and wiped Vista/installed Ubuntu - I don't want to be going to my bank, Amazon, PayPal etc. on a Windows machine, no way.
Anyway, this laptop has been running "Precise Pangolin"
Entered my username as per normal and the site filled in my password
Strikes me as strange. All other sites I have had to fill in my password manually and generally failed as my memory is poor and the passwords are many.
Some sites I've had to go for password renewal.
This is the only one that knew me right off.
Another thing was the Google+ thingy.
I don't go in for social networking sites at all but did the G+ thing to big up a blog (and I don't read blogs either, but this one was special and brought to my attention by The Register).
Anyhow, after having to sign in to that, I was presented with a handfull of potential friends to bung in a circle, or whatever it is your supposed to do.
Some I recognised but one baffled me. I have been scratching my head fo days and made quite a few enquiries about it, even to my sister in law who had invited me ages ago. She is seriously sneaky and hacked into Cheri Blair's eBay account to see she was buying tons of second hand designer shoes
As I logged in here it suddenly dawned on me that the mystery person was Zuul
Under her real name, which my memory had erased.
Beats me how Gurgle knew that.
