Default David Cameron Swearing on Radio

So in his final media appearance before the summer recess from Parliament David Cameron, the likely next Prime Minister of Britain, appears on a breakfast radio show and lets slip with a couple of minor expletives.

If you don't know about it, the interview is

He has already apologised for it, but will this hurt/help his profile? Is he trying too hard to sound normal and 'right on' or was it a legitimate screw up.

Also how offensive is it to you given what was said?

AbsoluteRadio? Who they? Before reaching Youtube the interview probably only reached about 150 people. And his wife, family and friends would have made up most of them.

I find it more interesting that he wanted to hear the questions upfront for such an inconsequential interview.

No headphones at work - what were the naughty words?

Pre-emptively, I'll say that anything that didn't start with an "f" or a "c" shouldn't be a problem for him. Two reasons for this - 1) we're all a bit less sensitive about that sort of thing nowadays; 2) he's got the big Mo. Any editor, columnist or commentator who wants to make a big deal out of this will have to consider how much they want to annoy the next PM over something basically trivial. Nothing succeeds like success.

(By contrast, Brown would be very unlikely to get away with something like this, because putting the boot into him carries few consequences, and has the advantage of satisfying a very high proportion of your audience.)

He said people who Twitter were twats, and that he was pissed off about something.(It might have been A-Team related.)

This interview will certainly solidify his 'man of the people' status in some households, but not this one.

Amusingly enough, it'll probably hurt his reputation with the more conservative elements of society. Guffaw.

Personally I wouldn't describe the word "Twat"as a swear word,it has in real terms strayed far from its biological orgins to mean idiots or foolish people.

Just like "Berk" which was originally rhyming slang for a womans genitalia and which many people were and are unaware of.

I'm a floating voter but its pushed him up in my estimation, you get so sick of mealy mouthed politicians who are so desperate not to offend ANYBODY and so end up spwewing out yards of meaningless verbiage time after time.
