I assume she wasn't hoping to actually have the votes on her name placed under danceswithcats' name; I think she was asking her devoted followers to do so.

At any rate, by now it's safe to say she's not going to win the election, making talk about whether or not she should step down pretty much irrelevant. Fortunately.

Well, it would appear that the election is done.

Now that you mention it, it does make sense that that was what she was trying to say, Excalibur. BiblioCat, I apologize if I read you wrong.

So, as a mod, you have the ability to check whether someone may be using a sock, by looking to see if the IP address matches another member's name? If it does, would this be more likely to indicate a lack of ability to use proxies, or that the person had no concern about their identity being matched? If the sock is a known troll, trying to pass off a 'baiting' as a real incident, is it not incumbent of a mod to let those responding know they are being suckered?

If it really looks like a known troll is just trying to stir shit up, then I might say yes. But to me, if the members participating in the thread are having a worthwhile time, whether or not the OP is sincere doesn't seem that important. Maybe I'm just a sociopath who values people more for their entertainment value than their actual feelings, but that's how I'd approach the matter.

It looks like the poll has finished and What Exit?, Caerie, NAF1138, sublight, CatInASuit and Winston Smith are retained as moderators (if my scan of the results is correct). Congratulations.

To the other moderators, thank you for your service over the past few months, you've all worked hard to get this site off the ground.

Thank you and are there any changes you want help with? Titles? Members of the Mod group? Etc.?

Cool, what do we do with all those pending from over the weekend. I think most were just sock attempts.

BTW: Welcome to Domebo, you have the distinction of my having specifically deactivated 2 members accounts around your and thus not treating you different from any other new accounts. Of course those were blatant spammers, but still.
