    Default Moderators (please *revote*)

As mentioned in The Hive, we're cutting the number of moderators in half, due to there not really being all that much to moderate, and the number of forums decreasing. So, vote for the six moderators you would like to see stay.

EDIT: Caerie now listed in the vote after she reconsidered her position. This, unfortunately, resets the vote. Sorry about that.

The poll runs for three days. You can change your vote. The six moderators with the most number of votes are kept. Coin toss decides any ties.

(By the way, this was the fairest method I considered for reducing the number of moderators. This isn't a judgment on the performance of the moderators by me, all of whom I think have done a great job.)

ETA: ties settled by a coin toss, like all the other moderator elections. It would be fairer to do a run-off, but it's better for the board to get this over quickly.

Afraid I can't participate in this user-dependent popularity contest. Nor do I feel that cutting the number of moderators is necessarily appropriate.

People are people; they need time off, they're not always right, and sometimes they need support from other mods. My opinion is you keep the numbers the same, but re-purpose the individual roles.

But in fact, since this is a website and not a country, I'm stunned that any sort of democracy is even being mooted. The owner should do what he or she feels is right and have done with it.

Apparently he feels the right thing to do is to ask us about it. It's a funny old world.

I voted but I felt bad. I don't get why U have to cut modz. PPl take vacations and arent always around and stuff so why is cutting modz a good idea? Doesn't having more modz with good rules on how&when to mod make more sense? I like them all and don't want 2 see any of them gone.

If there R modz who aren't as good or aren't doin a good job, they should just be fired. If they ARE doin a good job, why vote them off? And if it was a democracy why isn't there a "keep them all" option 4 us? Why can't we decide 2 keep them all? It's not really a democracy if were just told that we have 2 get rid of ppl we like even if we don't want 2.

I hate to change the dynamic again, but I'm stepping down.

I'd like to clarify that this isn't because of hurt feelings. I'm about to go back to work at least one and possibly two jobs, and I won't have the time to be an effective moderator. So it's best that I just step down now.

Oh, get off your cross. You know the rules prohibit NSFW images on the front page, and you continually ignore this rule. If you want to post NSFW pics, do it in a thread.

I'm not submitting any votes as I really haven't assessed the individual capabilities of the current mods.

Some I like, some I don't but this has nothing to do with their abilities, just personalities.

I am fairly aligned with Guizmeux though, a few spare mods don't detract.

I think that any mod should be able dive in to any forum if there is something needs attention, rather than hanging around waiting for a forum-specific mod to show up, without anyone feeling their toes have been stepped on.

Ok, I actually believe that Bibliocat did not mean to reveal the sock accounts while she was indulging in her nosiness. However, she did and her response here:

is fucking ridiculous. No one told you how to spy and not get caught? Do you think that may be because you were not supposed to be doing what you were doing? Do you think it fits the spirit of CRSP's sock rule, that allows people to come here and post sensitive information, for Puritan do-gooders to abuse their mod powers to discover their identities? SockCheat was no threat to this board. The only reason for you to pry into his identity was to satisfy your own prurient interest. And since you are apparently internet retarded, you revealed his identity to others.

You are a joke. Step down.

Guess the fact I've hardly posted in the past month or so has counted against me in this vote. If anything I'm surprised I'm not last. I wonder what dwc has done?

It strikes me that six has been an unfortunate choice of number of mods to keep... Lots of trading going on for that last spot!

Your name and meager vote tally came up once, in chat, that I responded to. We saw no apparent reason for the low number, and personally I can think of no good reason for a poster to vote against you, though my impression of you both as a mod and poster is quite vague. I'd hazard to say your relatively low profile was indeed a factor.

You can choose UP to six. You don't HAVE to choose six. I currently only have four chosen, and apparently some others are voting similarly.

The board provides no way to see who voted for who even if we wanted to check. Some time after this thread gets pulled from Global or locked I will unban MC and you can ask him. He might even tell you.

The board provides no way to see who voted for who even if we wanted to check. Some time after this thread gets pulled from Global or locked I will unban MC and you can ask him. He might even tell you.
Speaking of which, why not let MC vote? As long as you have stopped guest from posting in 101 let him vote. If he post something outrageous in the thread just delete it.

I am hereby stepping down. I'd like my votes to be transferred to danceswithcats.
I'm not good at the advice. Can I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

Fuck that. The people have decided that dances is not a good mod. It's not up to you to "transfer" your votes to him.

Seriously let's knock off the bullshit here. Enough is enough.

While I fully endorse Excalibur's eyeroll, I'd like to elaborate my thoughts on this.

At this point, whether Bibliocat is willing to step down should be irrelevant. She has admitted to seeking out the true domebo identity of SOCKcheat, which is a clear violation of the spirit of our sock rule that allows for people to take anonymity to discuss personal issues. IMO, BiblioCat's posting privileges should be under discussion, and removing her as a mod should be a given.

The fact that she seems to be unclear on the seriousness of this violation (evidenced by her asking to have her votes transferred to a mod who at this point clearly stands to lose the election, which would effectively mean that she, personally is choosing one of the mods) is just further evidence in my mind that she does not understand the role of a moderator, and that her name should be removed from consideration (or the person with th next highest # of vote should be given her spot if she happens to win.

Just for note, as each person can vote for multiple people, it is likely that several people who have voted for BiblioCat have also voted for danceswithcats.

Transferring votes is not really an option.
