    Sunday June 28th.

    Patti Smith, .

Although I have yet to find a version that improves on Niel Young's original, this is certainly excellent in it's own right and far better than an attempt to emulate the original.

The original version always puts me in mind of LOTR.

Heather Nova does a nice cover, too.

Apologies for monopolizing the thread and diving in at 00:06 on
    Monday June 29th 2009

but with the recent news on Michael Jackson I just had to put this in.

Far from my favourite Mylene Farmer song but you must see at 4' 20". And intermittently after that, best bit at 4' 53".

Stuart - The Dead Milkmen The video sucks, I had a hard time finding a linkable version of the song, so this works, just don’t watch it.

YAY! I love the Dead Milkmen. They are a totally awesome and (mostly) forgotten band. Nice pick.

Oooh. Neil Young's "Helpless" is one of my favorite songs ever. EVER. I'll check out Patti Smith's version, if NAF gets his fucking ass over to GB.

    Yes.

How does this thread work? First person to post a song makes it the song of the day? Or is there some formal selection procedure? I only ventured in here to find NAF regarding mafia on another board.

Can I do Wednesday, July 1?

(youtube). This was one of my favorite albums (Lunapark). I was fortunate enough to see them once at the Fillmore in SF, and that was one my favorite shows.

There is no formal process here - we're on the honour system. That said, I'm going to add to your song in honour of Canada Day today, zuma.
