Against Annihilation of the Spirit: Let Us All Become Cowards

I liked this blog. It echoed a lot of my own thoughts on mankinds ready acceptance of war as being a part of nature, and is a timely read for Memorial Day. It really does take courage to face those in charge of our military might and say, "We'd like to be able to do without you one day."!

I read it. All I can think is "And Chamberlain came back, clutching a bit of paper and saying he had 'peace in our time'."

It isn't enough just for one person or one nation, or even many nations, to not want to fight and put their weapons down. As we found out in World War Two, all it takes is one leader who wants a war to destroy that kind of peace.

But I agree with his point that the media spend to much time sanitising it. If you are going to send people to die at war, the least you can do is to have a good idea of what that actually entails and what you are sanctioning.
