Love it or hate it, but Stairway is one of the most popular songs of all time for some reason.Originally posted by NAF1138
As to "Immigrant Song", I've always love it quite a bit. "Whole Lotta Love" is great but "Immigrant Song" appeals to me just a bit more as does "Communication Breakdown".
My thoughts exactly on anyone who picked Stairway over Battle of Evermore.Originally posted by NAF1138

I love them both, and I'd be happy with either one winning. So in that situation, I always side with the Underdog.
But those are EASILY two of my top 5 Zep songs right there.... If not top 4. The other Two being Stairway and Levee....

3.2b) “Kashmir" 1975 Physical Graffiti
It's all academic at this point. My two favorite Zeppelin songs are my dear departed "When the Levee Breaks" and "Heartbreaker", which didn't even make the list.

I agree that Stairway beating Levee is just.. wrong.

Insert witty remark here.
Much closer than I expect. Stairway got a lot of the late votes.

Both quite excellent songs (though neither a favorite). This one comes down to "which song am I more likely to crank to ear-damaging volume when it comes on the radio".

Kashmir
"The Turtle Moves!"
This was almost a coin toss for me, but in the end I gave it to the song that was more groundbreaking
Whole Lotta Love
4a) "Whole Lotta Love"
Had to go with this because I fondly remember listening to it with the detachable speakers of my portable FM stereo on either side of my head.

Kashmir, ftw, please.
It was Jimmy Page's favorite; he felt it was the best piece of music the band had made. It was more groundbreaking with the mellotron and sitar and for technical aspects like horns and phasing on drums. Back in the day, with headphones on, this song took me places. Way sexier, way trippier than WWL.
Whole Lotta Love is a not remotely sexy song about sex. It may have the risque lyrics factor going for it but the plagiarism by Plant pushes this song off the podium. And a theremin is not a musical instrument, FFS!
Kashmir!

Odd man.
Yes. That is what I sadly think of when I think of Kashmir.
-_-
While Whole Lotta Love, I just remember my mind being blown- I can SEE the music! Where's it going! Come back!

FINAL BUMP. I'll tally later today and close this one out. Someone needs to check with Jali and get the next song battle ready.
Whole Lotta Love. And second should have gone to its rival in round 1, but the contest is rigged, RIGGED I tell you.
The winner: Whole Lotta Love: 8 votes
Kashmir: 4 votes
