    Default Photos of opportunity

I sort of wanted to post this in the nature picture thread, but it wasn't really nature because it was right outside our house. But it's a picture that I really love just because the opportunity to capture a squirrel in the act of raiding a bird feeder is very rare. They usually run away before I can even open the door. But this fellow? Fearless.

Gah! I thought it was a little statue until I read the op. Very cute!

Yeah, he's a real squirrel. Just one of those lucky opportunity photos. Naturally, I was delighted with it, especially since he was pretty much looking right at me.

Does that thing really keep him from getting at the birdseed? It looks like it might be able to get it's little squirrel-arms in to scrape something out.

The front and back are wide open. It emulates a covered bridge.

In my experience visual attractiveness and squirrel-proofness are pretty much diametrically opposed attributes in a bird feeder. You can get ones that look great, or ones that keep the squirrels out, but not both.

I didn't take any of these, and have posted them elsewhere, but...

Just a pigeon that chose to sit on my cactus for reasons that probably make sense if you are a pigeon.

Ha ha! I wonder if he's regretting it. "Why the hell do my feet hurt?"

I just happened to take this picture out of the window of a moving car, and it turned out great. It's one of my favorite photos.

And here's a picture I took of a cloud shaped like a question mark.

I like the question mark XJETGIRLX. Here's a series I took at work. I was there to shoot Jeeps going down that ledge; still, I've never seen one do THAT before.
This is the most beautiful place on Earth; there are many such places.
