False; my first girlfriend has dropped off the face of the planet to such an extent that I'm fairly certain she's dead and nobody told me (we're only talking about since 1998). This is someone that, if she were on Facebook, would probably have about 40 friends in common with me.

    TNP has a date tonight.

Correct - Boy Scout. Had a great time, and earned my Eagle Scout in 1981. Now I help with a local troop of which my son is a member.

Sometimes I do. Makes me wonder how different my life would be now if I'd joined the military out of high school rather than head straight to college, which I was manifestly unprepared for and ended up being a colossal waste.

True many times, for a while in my teens and twenties it was a common pastime for my friends and me. Bowl, mini golf, and smack a few dozen 68 mph tomatoes in the cages. Usually in that order; it's no fun to go bowling with your hands stinging.

False. I shot a BB gun many times in a youth, as well as the flintlock musket of a friend's dad (he was a black powder enthusiast - best of all was when he set off his small cannon!), and as a Civil War reenactor I fired my Enfield replica rifle many, many times.

TNP has been to an American Civil War reenactment.

True, though I seldom think to look for new ones. I read for the first time, and greatly enjoyed, a bunch of Sherlock Holmes books last year.

TNP has guilty pleasure books: books that he or she enjoys, but would be slightly embarrassed to be caught reading on the bus.

True. I ate more than I should last night.

(OneCentStamp, when you're done enjoying Conan Doyle, check out The Secret Files of Sherlock Holmes, a great collection of Holmesian pastiches by British author June Thomson - great, engaging mysteries, and uncannily like ACD's writing style).

    TNP likes Sherlock Holmes stories.

True! I plowed through short story collections The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and The Return of Sherlock Holmes, and the novel The Hound of the Baskervilles, last year. Incredibly influential stuff, and very fun reads.

On the whole, false. Dracula is one of my favorite novels ever, but pretty much all the other vampire fiction I've sampled, across all media, has left me flat.

    Fortunately not.

OneCent, if I could offer another suggestion: Two of my favorite vampire books are 'Salem's Lot by Stephen King (vampires overcome a small present-day Maine town) and Fevre Dream by George R.R. Martin (about vampires along the Miss. River before the Civil War). Both are excellent.

TNP is pretty much impervious to cold germs.

(I'll look into both of those! Salem's Lot actually stands out by exception as the only one of King's first 15-20 novels that I haven't read.)

True; a cold that wipes out my family for a week typically only gets me about 1 time in 3.
