False. Or true. I remember the last time I chaperoned a youngster trick-or-treatin', with my high school girlfriend and a 5-6 year old friend of her family's. ETA I have no idea when I was last actually trick or treating, as in doing it. Lots of individual instances, but not the last time. I do remember the only time I went "wilding" as a teenager and throwing eggs out of a moving car.

TNP is the master of last-minute laziness in doing costumes. No one got it, so I was stuck being Hawkeye from the movie version of *M*A*S*H -- not my idea, but the hat and shirt kind of work for Hawkeye.

Yes, it's true. I tend to throw things together at the last minute.

Yeah. I like to think before I act, in most things except spouting a bunch of gibberish and playing chess. About the chess, I prefer to think of myself as an heir to Capablanca and his rapid, intuitive style of play. Well, it gets me through the day, anyway.

TNP washed a bunch of dishes recently by hand.

    Yes, just on Thursday.

TNP has been in Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C. (as I was on Saturday).

No. Never been to Virginia or the D.C. at all.

TNP is in a good mood today, because of (a) beer and (b) Luger's textbook *Artificial Intelligence* is much better than others I've read.

In a pretty good mood, though not for those reasons. I could drink a beer, though.

Yeah. I mean, the studio/record company sounded cool. If it's the computer thing, I don't "get" iTunes and all that -- old school for me.

Sexist. No, nothing more than some really overgrown Howard Hughes-style stubble-cum-overgrown-ness. ETA how could I pass up not quoting Robert Lowell, "make the girls love, not war."

No . At least I can follow hockey, somewhat, since I missed an entire or two seasons of big ball.

TNP thinks sports are going to become digitized by nerds and will be a thing of the past soon.

No, since ancient times, they always seem to fascinate a substantial portion of humanity. And I doubt there will never be anything quite like watching a live game.

TNP has seen a live pro sporting event in the past two months.

    No.

TNP thinks live television is a better medium than crammed into a stadium seat getting pinkeye and pissing your pants, like you do at a live event. Besides, live sports, chances are the person sitting next to you wants to skull-fuck your favorite team. At least live music, people are there for one cause, or to get wasted.

ETA unless you wear a beaver coat and have a flask for the big Army-Navy game. Wrong sport. I emend to say, football's different, because of the camaraderie, and the only ball games I've seen in persona have been AAA, where there's no opposing people, just old coots keeping score with pencil and paper.

No. There's a lot to be said for enjoying the comforts of home while watching a game, but it's more exciting, immediate and communal to be seeing it live.

TNP has worn a beaver coat.

No. Sleeping pretty good. My nuclear option is to pop a few mgs of zomg evil horrible drugs, which is better than remaining unrested, therefore a better option, but I haven't needed it for a while (if something important in the morning, it's better to use it than risk sleeping unprotected). I just enjoy the waking nightmares of horror and expect my flesh to fall off at any moment. It's better than bathing in milk for one's complexion.

Actually, pretty sure that's a big affirmative. Either me, whipped into a frenzy for corny words by my uncle, or my uncle must have said it -- we're like the Borg. Hard to tell who says what.

My life is one giant (well, human-sized) struggle against boredom, ireelevance, and melancholia.

TNP thinks the circulatory system of humans is pretty mysterious.

It is an amazingly complicated and ingenious system, to be sure. I'm not enough of a medico to really understand it.

I don't know. It's either Fallopian Tubes -- something about cram them in a plastic tub and you have instant pork rillettes. Or else some part of the brain. Yep, probably the medulla oblongata, or whatever -- the one that kind of looks like a jellyfish. Nope. It's the cervix. It really does feel like the end of a human nose. Probably shouldn't be picking it, though, unless the chemical rag has been freshly dipped in solvent.

TNP is always shocked and surprised whenever he or she wakes up in a good mood.

Yes, except on weekends, when I like to sleep in. I know what they say about not being able to "catch up on sleep" and so on, but it does feel awfully good to sleep in.

Yes. Sometimes it even works out. For example, that time you spill something and need to use a vacuum cleaner? Glad to have earplugs in my wallet. Not any kind of master strategy, just I like to know what I'm getting into ahead of time. That's why I can't swim, except maybe dogpaddle or tread water.

No, I stick to two loads. I don't have a washing machine at my place, so I use the one across the street provided by the HOA, like pretty much all my neighbors. Those machines suck. I would like to put in an under-the-counter machine in the kitchen, but there's not really enough room. Also, hassle, expense, and I don't think I've ever seen that type of machine in the US, although I'm sure they can be bought.

No, it's been a long time. My loose change tends to go in the coin jar pretty much immediately, for later redemption at the bank.

Hahaha. No. That's false. My only checking account now is an internet-only bank. I have to scan checks with an "app" to deposit them, which fortunately I very rarely have to do these days. I guess technically I still have a checking account across the street at Chase, but I haven't been over there in at least three or four years.

I don't have one, and they can be annoyingly intrusive in the hands of others, but "hate" is probably overstating it.

TNP has secretly yearned for a smartphone of his or her own.
