Yeah, that would suit me OK.

TNP has a habit of wearing a certain item of clothing on a certain day of the week.

Yes. I usually help my mom at some time during the week lifting boxes and helping out. Jeans, plaid shirt, and some Merrill hiking shoes which are almost falling apart after....1500? miles or so.

TNP has been pleasantly surprised at not only not-being yentzed, but being given FREE service by a kindly jeweler (or other service provider). "yentz" is Yiddish, and it is not remotely "anti-semitic," whatever that means.

No, can't say that I have.

    See post 5549, and: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/anti-semitic?s=t

    No. Never heard of it.

TNP has been to a Holocaust memorial recently. in my case, it was this morning -- kind of gloomy, thinking of Spielrein and St. Edith Stein

No. Not sure I ever have been.

    As to The Martian:

TNP would go to Mars if given the chance.

Probably not. I like to take vacations in my mind.

True, I have never played Angry Birds, but false, as the only gaming addiction I have is Tetris, and that's pretty mild. I sometimes go weeks without playing.

    TNP likes Tetris.

I fucking love Tetris. That's big affirmative. Except I think, just like Castle Wolfenstein done on cocaine and whiskey back ca mid-1990s, it's probably going to give somebody a young, corn-fed, all-star kid a heart attack and then they'll ban it. Only reason to use emacs (text editor)!

TNP thinks "fly-over country" is said, not just as a "thing," but for good reasons.alternate TNP: TNP has been frustrated recently by running out of "space" on a drive and is kicking himself or herself for not bringing a backup. fucking asshole-eating motherfuckers. see? no "jew"s anywhere. Also EETA: TNP has been swarmed personally by boxelder bugs recently -- you know what they are. they just never had the moxy to land on ME before. break out the borax

I live in "fly-over country," and unless it's said ironically or as a joke, no, it's not said for good reason - it's annoying and arrogant.

TNP has been in NYC and LA in the same week.

I think so, yeah, but I haven't been in LA enough to really do a fair comparison.

TNP always goes to the best art museum when visiting a new city.

Probably? There are [s]fly-over[/s] places that don't have art museums, but I try to check out the local attractions. Basket-weaving HQ, or whatever it is.

TNP thinks some local exhibits/attractions are more fun than the big-league stuff. Analogy time: sometimes AAA ball is more fun to watch than the majors.

I don't know about "try," but I enjoy postcards and buy them whenever I feel like it.

Yes, I try to get to the best local museum, historic site and restaurant(s), time and budget permitting.

No, I have not. McDonald's, rice, some navy beans, tomatoes, a shitload of whiskey, some beer. Oh yeah, I guess exactly a week ago I cooked some pinto beans. Margarine, vegetable oil, salt. And water. ETA I have to emend my earlier answer -- no, I probably don't buy postcards wherever I go. But I still like them and have been known to buy them. For what reasons unclear.

TNP is enjoying an unreasonably early nightfall, which features an unreasonably clear night, with seasonably seasonal weather.

No, not at all. I always view the computer machine with suspicion, though. It's a way of being.

TNP has terrorized a woman driver who was "blocking the box" (with an umbrella or otherwise) recently. For example, yes, she raised her hands above the wheel, palms facing outward, shaking them along with her head. I didn't need to do that, but I did.

We had to learn it in seventh grade science -- at least the alphabet. That's hardly understanding it, though. "SOS" is the only word I know.

"blocking the box" is when an incompetent boob of a driver doesn't look ahead to the stopped traffic ahead of his or her vehicle and is stuck in the middle of an intersection (including crosswalks) when the opposite direction has green lights.

TNP uses an umbrella to wipe trash off a bench or occasionally a sidewalk into a more appropriate place.

    No, not that recently.

TNP has outgrown the teenage interest in mobsters, but still doesn't have anything personal against the individuals. eta, La Pizza Nova kind of sucked and had mediocre wings. I'd like to see Panaro take over the whole enterprise. I don't know why, but I like those guys.

I don't know why I said that, I have no problem with the T****** or no love for the P******, it's just getting old trying to not say nice stuff about regular people. eta I said it -- Buffalo, home of the breakfast pizza. No. I haven't seen a single MLB game all year. Actually, I never seem to watch more than one or two games at most.

If by "letter" you mean "drunken screed," then sure. Wait a minute -- I write texts on my laptop and send them to people's phones all the time (I have fat thumbs, and am a slow texter on a phone). I guess those are "notes." Probably in the last few months, an actual letter, though.

TNP is not going out or seeing anybody on Halloween. I've refused an invitation just a few minutes ago.

Nope. I don't mind at all if some twenty-something hipster wants to get drunk and dress up as a sexy kitty cat. Kind of weird, but whatever. Stupid kids.

Nah, garbage disposals aren't that common in Canada. Last time we were in the States, though, the kid tried running some leftover octopus through the hotel room disposal, and it didn't work out that great.

Nope. I redeemed an unused $0.82 on a grocery store gift card today. Was expecting a giant hassle, even had some choice lines all picked out. "Well, I'm really not asking you to do me a favor..." and stuff about consumer protection laws and stuff. Because that grocery store is downtown and sucks. Easy enough, though -- it was almost disappointing.

No, but I found myself behind a small white car which was going very slowly and straddling two lanes. I kept my distance until I could pass, as I thought the driver might be DUI.

TNP knows someone convicted of DUI.

False. I don't know about getting my molecules all scrambled in some machine ray. But walking/using a train/bus/monorail/taxi/chauffeured car is OK. That or using these new-fangled computers and teleport data seems to work OK.

TNP is in a Halloween (or whatever) costume right now. I'm Hunter Thompson -- I'd do a picture now but my aviator shades and cigarette holder are tucked away in my bag and I don't want to get it out. Plus, I didn't go full on -- shorts, floral-print Hawaiian-type shirt, sun hat, and black converse sneakers with no socks. Didn't shave my head.

No, but my youngest son went trick-or-treating tonight in his homemade U.S. postal box costume (and got a lot of compliments).

TNP remembers well the last time he or she went trick-or-treating.
