Nah, I don't mind. It's a big Internet and we're all grownups. Well, most of us, anyway....
Yeah sure, but constantly bringing up a Chacoboard where every single one of my posts have been deleted, merely because some of the posters have sandy panties, irritates me.

(And I disagree that "a regular person has no business in court." The courts are open to all. There's a lot you can learn by observing the justice system at work, even if you don't have a pending case of your own.)
That's a fair point. I remember *Twelve Angry Men* as well as anybody. And *The Paradine Case* and *Advise and Consent* and all the rest. I just prefer to remain on the good side of the law, and I don't know if eating popcorn and watching an OJ trial is all that entertaining or instructive. There are books, you know. And I know enough about the ways of men to guess how things go. That said, I got a lot out of doing mock trial/moot court in high school. That also being said, I don't know shit about the law except to know I hate the way Latin is pronounced in courts. It puts a burr in my ass.

No, all in all I think it has its uses. That said, I'm not convinced that alcoholism is a "disease," as such, and I don't buy all of the one-size-fits-all psychobabble about it these days.

TNP thinks there is a huge gulf between the reality of courts today and what Hollywood has to say about them.

No. I can't think of a single food to which I'm allergic.

TNP has purposefully given a waiter or waitress a tiny (not zero) tip.

Tipping isn't de rigeur here, it's incorporated into the prices. While in France I was instructed to give an insultingly small tip because the natives locals were offended he didn't offer to speak English to me (even though I managed ok in French).

TNP has been to France and was shocked by something there.

Shocked that it is a violent, gritty town, with an enormous amount of racial tension. And I like it that way!

TNP is often shocked and amazed by some damned thing or another.

No. It's been a long time since I saw either, except for maybe *Jeopardy!* if I'm visiting my parents (they are nightly-watching fanatics -- it's all they talk about on the phone). *Family Feud* is my preference, because of (a) the theme music (I was playing a jazz job once and my mother, father, and some other relatives came out, I don't know why, exactly -- I snuck in a few choruses of a solo on a blues doing the theme from *Family Feud* because I thought it would be funny. No one caught the reference. Idiots). (b) the cheesiness (c) and the sheer madness of it all. OTOH, *Jeopardy!* is stupid, IMHO -- dumb questions, asshole contestants who would probably be better suited to a life online, illiterate host, and the notion of "cash prize money winner is the one with the most" is just a parody of Gordon Gecko type stuff.

TNP has called someone, to their face, IRL, at least one racial slur -- as an insult.

Yeah, angry dad is still kicking it. Not retired yet, either. Might not last too long -- pacemaker, juvenile diabetes, sleep apnea, getting the paunch big-time (he was always a trim guy, until he got old). eta WHAT'S RIGHT????? jeez, you parents know how to guilt-trip. I was going to give a congratulatory text to my pops, and don't say I'm wrong!

TNP has or had a somewhat complicated relationship with his or her father.

No I've only had the time to dip well into some Bernhards, some Gaddises, and lots of other collections of shorter pieces. Well, that and dick around on the internet. Don't judge me! You're not my supervisor!

TNP has one famous novel he or she hasn't even got beyond page one of. (In my case it's Canetti's *auto-da-fe'*).
