Yup - there's definitely ball in the shot.

From Saturday morning-
Papaw, you're good at this.
Well, thanks! I keep trying to get better!Originally posted by McNutty
Some old ones-
Thanks guys, the butterfly was very patient with me.
The swan photo is very impressive!
Lightly Seared On The Reality Grill
OMG awesome. I've set it as my wallpaper, and faved it in flickr!
The meerkat's harbls are too hot! He's gotta air them out.
That meerkat is a man after my own heart, a guy who really knows how to kick back and relax.Originally posted by featherlou
I like thw swan shot, and commented on it on Flickr.
Here's something I saw Saturday morning:

That's really lovely. I like how the petals are such a flat white, with just a hint of pink or cream to them.
From my garden, something I just took with a lot more colour -
Beautiful troubleagain! We have two magnolia trrees in the garden, but the flowers are really high up:
"We don't need to all lose glitter privileges because one kid makes a sparkly penis on the carpeting." - Excalibur
Magnolias are yummy--I love the scent AND those creamy blossoms. I don't have a tree, though. If I get a "magnolia" at all, I want a Japanese magnolia, though. I don't want to deal with those huge leaves and seed pods.
Featherlou, is that a viola?
Yup, that's a viola that has popped up right in front of my irises. Which, by the way, are blooming magnificently for the first time. The blooms are about a meter tall!
Oooh, nice!
Speaking of high up- these Boganvilla blossoms are reaching for the sky!
I like that picture, Papaw. It's very energetic.
Some more pics of the flowers in my yard -
An iris bloom by the evening light.
Spring asters and friends.
So, after the company picnic at the Indianapolis Zoo, I entered my pictures in the photo contest. Lo and behold the laid back meerkat took first place.Originally posted by Dangerously Unqualified
Personally I thought I had submitted better pictures, heck I though a lot of people's pictures were better.
It seems art and the popularity thereof is truly in the eyes of the beholders.
Anyway, thanks to all Dark Room denizens and especially to garygnu for the tips on photography.
That's awesome, Dangerously Unqualified. Congratulations!
ETA: You should photoshop a tiny little banjo onto him.
Single cactus flower.
It looks like it's glowing, Papaw. Lovely.
How do you make weeds look pretty? 50mm lens in Aperture Priority and manual focus to catch Bokeh, that's one way.
Done for a challenge on Flickr. challenge was to get out of your comfort zone and try things you don't normally do. I needed to use the Canon 50mm lens more, and wanted to get Bokeh intentionally, rather than by luck and chance.
That's not a weed! That's a mexican petunia! Well, okay, it can BE a weed, but I have it in my garden on purpose.
Yeah, if that's your worst weed, I'll take it!
Check out my crazy flowers - they look like tiny little eggplants!
They look droopy and sad. Are they supposed to hang down like that?
What flower is that?
Yep, that's how they go. They are, if I recall correctly, bellflowers. Yeah, here's a picture like them -
I think I like this kind better, though -
Looks like a variant of the Foxglove.Originally posted by Papaw

Finally got some up on PhotoBucket. Let's see if I can linky. No idea how to reduce the image size to where they appear here, but here we go !!
Image 1
Image 2
Image 3
No idea what they are !! The water droplets on the first one are natural. It was starting to drizzle. The color saturation and the light were just perfect for this kind of thing. Just had to keep the slow rain off of the camera body !

If you want to kiss the sky, you'd better learn how to kneel.
1 - azalea is my guess, but I'm no azalea expert
2 - iris
3 - lilac variety - possibly Preston lilac
To reduce size, there is a link on the top of the picture that says, "edit image/see much more" - the resizing is under there, with a button that says "Resize."
To direct link to images, you can copy the Direct Link code in the Share this Image box, and just surround it with [img] tags.
Yes, the first is an azalea. Lovely pics!

You have Moonflowers in Arkansas Dragon?
This is the most beautiful place on Earth; there are many such places.
Not only does the wife have Moon Flowers, she has Naked ladies...

I love that, Clayton.
Thanks.. I'm by no means a flower photo person.. I was walking around Burlington VT and outside a library was a bunch of flowers.. my girlfriend took a few photos for her aunt that does flower gardens and stuff like that for a living.. I was bored so I tried the macro setting on some flowers for the heck of it. One turned out good.. Only photoshop was I brought out the white at the very top a little bit.. It looked like a very light gray.
Milkweed is the host plant for Monarch butterflies. I planted some last year, without even knowing what I'd bought. Yesterday, I spotted my first Monarchs! Yay!
I have a lot more, here in my flickr album.
Ooh, those are both lovely.
Great picture grrl. Colleen has some new ones I need to look at today.

Not a very good picture but not a very good subject either... Bawahahaha

You take gorgeous pics. Are you a flower expert? You seem to know a lot about them.Originally posted by troubleagain
Here's one of mine
Oooh, very pretty! No, I'm no expert--I just like to know stuff, so I look it up. And I love butterflies, so I've done some research on what flowers and plants the caterpillars and butterflies live on.Originally posted by Sleeps w/Butterflies
