Ok, I need to consider whether to unshock someone or whether to shock someone else with the possibility that one of the shocked players is scum and one of the remaining live players is scum.
Erk.

Good Game!
Hee.
I chose to save you for last because your avatar was best.
I'll be honest and say I thought I was going to spend a chunk of toDay trying to protect Darth and frame someone else.
Thanks.

I thought I was going to be doing something similar.
Shock all of youse!
That was a quick game. Thanks all!
They weren't singing....they were just honking.

CatInASuit and Darth Sensitive look around at the carnage. They slip out of their assumed Mid-Atlantic accents for something more Sicilian. Satisfied that all the shocked bodies lying around will confuse the police to no end, and that no witnesses remain of the two mobsters' stay, they swap out their scrubs for expensive-looking suits and make their escape.
Total victory for the mafia!

I have two ideas for another game, not with shock paddles this time, but not regular Mafia, either.
One would would be an Inquisition-themed Kingmaker game. If you're not familiar with Kingmaker, instead of voting in that one, there is one player on the town side who is the "Kingmaker". He chooses every night who gets to be king the next day. The King is the only player with a real vote, so he decides who dies. The scum can also be picked to be King, so the Kingmaker has to watch out for that; however, if the scum King is too obvious about it, he'll die the next day. The same player cannot be King twice in a row, unless the game falls under a certain number of players.
Definite roles:
Catholics:
Peasants—regular townies, except without a vote at all.
The Pope—the Kingmaker; he has come to Castle DoMeBa in disguise to root out the heresy there, and he can appoint a Grand Inquisitor every night. If he dies, he can nominate his successor, unless he picks a heretic, in which case it will be randomly chosen from the remaining Catholics. He cannot nominate himself.
Sheriff- a basic cop.
Apothecary- a basic doctor.
Heretics:
Heretics- regular mafia members.
Drunken Monk- "godfather" who shows up as innocent when investigated.
Roles to Consider:
Catholics:
Antipope- someone is unhappy with the current Pope's decision-making skills, he can declare himself Antipope; if the town votes that he should be recognized as the true Pope, he becomes Kingmaker. The downside to this for the town is that they could pick a heretic; if they do, then the town is basically guaranteed to lose unless another Antipope steps up.
The Old Crusader- the generic "Hero" role; the Old Crusader is greatly respected among the peasants, and they will kill any Grand Inquisitor who attempts to burn him.
Catholic Fanatic- works like a regular day-vig, but the Grand Inquisitor can choose to execute him for his crime if he chooses (in addition to the daily heretic burning); he is thematically paired with the Heretic Fanatic; i.e. you don't know which side he's on just because he's a vig.
Heretics:
Heretic Fanatic- works the same as the Catholic Fanatic
Other Factions:
Jews- anti-town Masonry that wins with the Heretics, but they don't know who the heretics are, and vice versa.
Satanist- a basic serial killer.
The other option is a Roman-themed Lights Out Mafia game with three factions, a Triumvirate, and no real town that I played before on another board. Lights Out still has voting, but you can lynch as many people as you want before you vote for "lights out". You then find out all the roles in the morning. In this version, you vote to put people on a "proscription" list, and they are ejected from the Curia when they're added. However, you can also vote to let them back in again before the list is published at night. Once you publish it, all those people die.
The factions are the Optimates, the Populares, and the Plutocrats. Each faction (they were four members each in the one I hosted before) has in it one member of the Triumvirate, who work like a mafia and kill at night. Each also has a special power: in the other version, the Optimates could use their superior connections to determine the role of a player (faction and Triumvirate status), the Populares could call on the people to protect a chosen person from attack at night, and the Plutocrats could buy a vote (either linking it to the vote of a chosen person or making them vote for a specific person). The factions win when they kill everybody else and get rid of their Triumvirate member, and the Triumvirate wins when they kill everyone else.
So, which one would you rather play?

Actually the Roman one sounds cool too.
