CPAC did a straw poll of attendees to find out who has the early conservative support for the 2012 Republican nomination. Mitt Romney won with 20%, as he did in 2007 AND in 2008. Jindal came in second with 14%.
Considering that Romney won in previous years and didn't have all that impressive a showing in 2008, what if anything can we glean about this poll? I'm curious whether anyone thinks Jindal's second place showing is a good sign for him (second), a bad sign for him (14%), or no sign at all.
(Rush Limbaugh apparently argued that the Republicans lost because they weren't conservative enough in 2008. Does ANYONE really believe this?)
