Default Flight of the Conchords 3/1/09 (Open Spoilers!)

I think this was literally the funniest episode of anything that I had ever seen. When Jemaine opened the door and Art Garfunkle was standing there, I almost died laughing. Not to mention Patton Oswalt, the Obama impersonator, the Japanese karaoke love song, and the fat Bret impersonator with Mel. Every time I didn't think it would get funnier, it did.

"Are you practicing Paul Simon's solo stuff?"
I'm still swimming in harmony. I'm still dreaming of flight. I'm still lost in the waves night after night...

I thought it was great. The show seems to be finding its own comedy voice outside of the musical pastiches. All the zany stuff you mentioned was indeed fun, but I think my favorite part was the "official apology" scene on the train with Brian, Prime Minister of New Zealand. I'd like to note the spellcheck doesn't recognize "Zealand". Must have been programmed by Australians.

Per usual, I need to watch it a second time. It was fairly bizarre, though. The prime minister was very funny, as was the White House tour bit.

I think Patton Oswalt should be in every episode.
    (paraphrased from memory)
"I have like eleven kids. All Elton babies."
    "Isn't Elton John gay?"
"Yeah. So am I. But I'm in character."

I'm bummed out that there's only 3 weeks left in the season. Oh well, the great thing about this show is that I can watch the episodes over and over and still be entertained.
