I once saw a chart showing a progression of the way players would change positions. Anyone else ever see it? I believe it starts with 3B or LF, ending w/1B.

Not quite right. Skill positions in order are: SS, C, 2B, 3B. Top Athletes CF. Great Arms RF. Least skill/ability= LF & 1B.
Reasonable progressions:
SS moves to 2b or 3b depending on arm strength. If has great speed but can't handle grounders then CF or LF. If can hit but fielding is fading to 1b.
C moves mostly to 1b but sometimes 3b or LF. Must be a good hitting catcher though.
CF moves to RF, LF or 1B.
3B generally only moves to 1B or LF
Found it! Was a Bill James thing. It goes:
P-C-SS-2B-CF-3B-RF-LF-1B
Maybe I am reading it out of context, but as shown, it is bullshit. Very few Pitchers successfully move to other positions unless were talking high school or lower. Catchers rarely move to middle infield or center. I know of a few that went to 2b and know of none that went to SS though I am sure it has happened.
What was the context of his list?
I just Googled "baseball" AND "change positions".
