    Default The Ashes 2012

It's that time again, the greatest sporting rivalry taking place over the next few weeks.

And gives me a great opportunity to make fun of spitz and AllWalker shortly before the next great English batting collapse

    Pigeon Prophecy: 5-0 to England.

It will be a glorious summer.

First test starts tomorrow with the Cook and Root being the opening partnership for England. Bit harsh on Compton, really.

One of the most interesting laws in sport today and the one that will set the good umpires from the great.

100 up just after lunch followed by Pietersen getting out swinging away.

And already the Ashes is living up to its reputation.

Ashton Agar, a 19 yr old debut gets 98, breaking all sorts of records into the process.

England were walking the game, Australia down and out and they just flubbed it.

Oh well, its only Day 2, but whether it will last all five days - who knows?

Well, that a close run thing and it bodes well for an excellent season of cricket.

I still don't see Anderson being as good as Dale Steyn though, even after his accomplishments at Trent Bridge. But I'm so very glad we've got him.

Huh - this threads still around and with the Ashes appearing again too soon, looks like it will be a bit different this time around.

Wow - 2 matches gone, England 2 down and Perth to come up.

This series could be over before its even started. Wonder how England are going to get out of this.

I think Cook needs to do something Bradmanesque.
