    Default Cricket Australia WTF?

This has to be one of the most incredulous stories I have heard.

Four players of the current Australian Test Cricket team currently losing the series 2-0 in India have been deselected from the team on the grounds of...

    ....

    wait for it

    ....

    not doing their homework.

Apparently, its a line in the sand for the manager, that they haven't provided the presentation that was asked for after the innings defeat in the last test match.

Seriously, CA just became the laughing stock of the Cricket world. Its not like the team is that big and two of them are one of their main batsmen and their current frontline bowler.

What is going on? There is obviously more to this than meets the eye, but I think most people are trying to decipher what is going on.

    A few more details here.

I support the coach. He said he told them exactly what was expected of them - it was not at all onerous - all of their teammates complied - they didn't. If you disobey your coach, there must be consequences.

I disagree. Considering the homework was how to improve their own play and that of the team, which is something the manager is responsible for, a better punishment would likely be a fine, not a suspension.

There is more to this than is being said, especially, that Watson is likely to quit the test team.

It's all part of a cunning plan to lull the Pom's into a false sense of security.

I bit like England managing to scrape a draw against the might Black Cats.
