In 2013, a whole new set of Top Level Domains may be activated sitting alongside TLD's such as .com and .net. This will include such TLD's as .sex and .porn. Google has gone for .google and .youtube, the Beeb has gone for .bbc.
Overall there were over 1900 requests from around the world, mainly from North America. These will be processed and if accepted available to the companies.
I wonder if this will open a new wave of the web being more descriptive, or if the new TLDs will suddenly become lost and so much harder to remember.
