DC Comic Character outed
As part of the new 52 reboot series for DC Comics, it was noted that one of the major characters would be revealed as being homosexual.
The choice of character is Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern...
...who has been twice married with kids...
...neither of whom will now exist....

Is this a bold move on DC Comic's part or crowbarring in PC sentiments for the sake of it and I'm wondering if there could have been a better character for this?

Alan Scott getting retconned gay on Earth 2 is a pretty pathetic grab for attention with little risk involved.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.
