Default Titanic II - Sailing in 2016

An Aussie Billionaire has decided to tempt fate by ordering the construction of a cruise ship which will sail from London to New York called the Titanic II.

Details on his new hobby here.

It does mention it is the first of four ships he is commisioning. What's the next one going to be called, The Marie Celeste?
In the land of the blind, the one-arm man is king.

I feel a strange desire to sail on that ship...

But if it had adequate safety features, does it even count?

I wouldn't mind sailing on her, if she was as much like the original, inside and out, in all the public areas as modern safety would permit. I can't imagine, after the initial novelty wears off, that she'll be economically viable, though.

I'm more looking forward to the 2016 Rising. We'll do it right this time.

All we need are some WWI reinactors to really round out the 'background events of Downton Abbey' theme we've got going here ...

As Wonderella points out, it's a lot less risky these days for some reason.

This mirrors my thoughts. It'd be neat, but I don't know how much long-lasting demand there would be and that would be an expensive ship to maintain.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.

I don't think I'd ride on it, but then, ships make me nervous anyway. I'm not a cruise person, and a transatlantic voyage would make claustrophobic, I think.

I can imagine it being snapped up cheaply and parked beside the USS Intrepid.

Not bad. The Titanic finally makes port at her original destination!
