    Default Doonesbury vs Texas

Garry Trudeau's strip Doonesbury has taken aim at the ruling in Texas that all abortion seekers must have sonogram before they can actually have an abortion in order to make them reconsider.

As a result, several newspapers have decided against running the strip and will be running something different for the week.

I think this is one of those times that Art can seriously hold a mirror up to society and show it for what it is.

I would like to apologize for Texas.

It is such a silly and wasteful law.

I agree heartily with the intent of the comic, but I do wonder if that's a bit graphic for the funny pages.

Similarly. I think this is one where a case can be made for running Doonesbury on the op-ed page, like a lot of papers do.

    Love Doonesbury.

It's a great strip, but today's is pretty disturbing. It made me wince. I can see how it could be inappropriate for the funnies.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.

Yikes. That is pretty harsh (if fitting). Probably better on the Op/Ed pages.

I think our paper publishes them in the Op-Ed except on Sundays. Although that may have changed.

I think given the subject matter those comics are the appropriate amount of extreme.

    Disturbing, and desperately necessary.

I'm still amazed such a law was ever passed. So much for the right not to be interfered with by the state.

Rich, white men and large corporations have the right not to be interfered with by the state.

    Everyone else is fair game.

I don't remember any discussion here about the IPO. Are you selling stock?
