Three years
If I'm correct in my reckoning, it's three years today that poor old Domebo began its cursed life.
Well, things could have gone better, but what the heck. I've made friends here, which I never did at the Dope, and to my friends I say "Happy Domebo Day!"
Well Happy Domebo Day indeed. Nice little place, much quieter then the other bar I hang out at. I followed I think CIAS & Malacandra over here pretty early. It helped that Silenus, RickJay, Cluricaun, WhyNot and Danceswithcats were here too. Elendil's Heir and I exchanged some PM's about the place but I think he came over later. I still hope some others will either wander back or some new people will wander in. It was good to see members I already knew and liked from the dope.
I feel closer to the regulars here then I do those only on the Dope. It is a small community we have at this point. I'm trying to remember if I invited Sarahfeena & OneCentStamp about DoMeBo or not. I think I did but they may have already known. I'm really happy I got to know the rest of you a lot better.
Happy Day! Yes, it was you, What Exit?, who invited me, and at the time you did, I had not posted to the SDMB in months. It's been nice to get to know some of you much better.
I like what we've settled into: no flames, no drama, just the quiet neighborhood bar where everybody knows your name.

Three years? It seems like only yesterday. Yesterday with more people around, of course, but still only yesterday.

I think the only active Mellos I have met is Elendil's Heir. Maybe someday I'll have an excuse to meet more of you. The last Dopefest I hosted had some DoMeBo members attend but they have since drifted off.
I'm pretty sure I spent our third anniversary curled up on Marsilia's couch and mumbling about beagles eating my feet. The days got a little fuzzy there while I was sick. I kind of feel like Sleeping Beauty trying to figure out what century it is now. Alas, I'd hoped to actually celebrate this anniversary with you guys.
There have been some ups and downs, but I am absurdly grateful for the existence of Mello. I've met some wonderful people here, several of whom have actually changed my life. Where I was three years ago is so absurdly different from where I am today and this place has been here through it all. It's been a wild and crazy ride all around.
