Default Bud Light Platium: The Anti Sam Adams

    Check out this commercial:

Tell me if it's just me:

This ad makes the product seem sterile and characterless. The colors, even
the name, Platinum, feels nothing like something you'd want to ingest.

I compare this add to any Sam Adams ad that always includes some tempting
looking gold/amber elixir is one of those cool glasses.

My arm-chair marketing take is that this ad will push away low-end drinkers who generally avoid anything remotely "challenging" beer wise. Conversely, I think the high-end intenders this ad may be looking for are going to giggle at the notion
of anything Bud Light being worth their time.

So, the market is semi-pretentious beer drinkers who don't know better? And do they want to drink something made is what appears to be a low-budget George Lucas nightmare?

This is a beer ad and it isn't even an ad, just visual reality.

The Bud Ad is nearly as stupid as those grooved bottles from Miller Lite. The Vortex bottle. Though the temperature indicating Coors bottles ad campaign and bottle design is the worst.

Also I would like to point out that amber/brown is the only acceptable color for a beer bottle. Green and Clear are terrible and according to beer and glass experts both brown or amber is the best. I am not sure where blue fits in.

Worth noting: At 6% alcohol, as displayed on the bottle, this stuff is really high-octane for "light" beer.

Perhaps this is post-modern malt-liquor selling we're seeing here.

This looks more like a vodka ad to me. Vodka is allowed to be all icy and blue and...laser etched, I guess. Beer is not.

I wonder if the Bass I get here is the same stuff. I heart Bass although I'm not much of a beer drinker.
