This ad makes the product seem sterile and characterless. The colors, even
the name, Platinum, feels nothing like something you'd want to ingest.
I compare this add to any Sam Adams ad that always includes some tempting
looking gold/amber elixir is one of those cool glasses.
My arm-chair marketing take is that this ad will push away low-end drinkers who generally avoid anything remotely "challenging" beer wise. Conversely, I think the high-end intenders this ad may be looking for are going to giggle at the notion
of anything Bud Light being worth their time.
So, the market is semi-pretentious beer drinkers who don't know better? And do they want to drink something made is what appears to be a low-budget George Lucas nightmare?
