Default George Takei brokers "Star Peace"

Why can't we all just get along?

My respect for Takei compels me to lay down my arms, but I cannot set aside my hate.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.

Well as someone that truly hates sparkle vampires I must commend the idea of joining forces (if you will) even with Star Wars fans against this menace. Indeed and to our aging legion of geeks and nerds let the younger Buffyverse nuts and Hogwartians join in our cause. Death to sparklepires!

I guess that the Star Wars vs. Star Trek rivalry must exist, and Zuul and jim refer to it, but I've never seen it outside TV and the movies. Anybody I've ever known who was a Trekker was also pretty seriously into Star Wars.

Of course, I'm from Canada. Maybe there's a more pacific strain of nerd here.

Honestly I was never into Star Wars, I think Empire Strikes Back was the only really good movie of the 6 and 4-6 were awful dreck. First one was watchable but over-rated. While I believe overall the average geek did like both, many vocal fans do strongly dislike the other.

WE?, how can you like Empire but hate movies 4-6?

The rivalry is probably an american thing. Most people in the UK enjoyed both.

I loved Star Wars as a kid and have made it a point to see all six movies in theatres. It's just not a passionate big letters FANDOM for me. Entertaining enough, but not a personal obsession. I've actually done Star Wars RPGs before and I've never received animosity from anybody over my Trek love, except jokingly. I imagine there are some people who take it seriously, but I'd wager that the majority are just kidding around about the hate.

Look screw Lucas, Empire was the second movie, not #5.

I'm old enough where I saw Star Wars first run and it will always be Star Wars to me, not whatever Lucas renamed it.

I, a middle-aged straight woman, have been madly in love with George Takei ever since the "you, sir, are a douchbag" video, and my straight 13-year-old son shares my passion. Wherever Takei leads, we will follow.

We seriously need Takei Mugs and plan to acquire a collection as soon as we are next in the United States.

Nothing better than cheeky rebellion. Take that, evil doers!
