I never knew, I never guessed so many people have spent so much time reading so many meanings into these few words. But the a song with this stanza is probably worthy of said.

So my daughter has been going through all of Buffy and loved the Singing episode when at the end the Mutant Enemy was musical. See mentioned that tonight and I mentioned the Yes song that sang of a Mutant Enemy.
In Googling it I found a staggering number of Lyric interpretations.
One says the Mutant Enemy is Jesus and another that the Sad Preacher is both Jesus and Martin Luther.
