    Default Is Wikileaks yesterdays news

When they released thier wikileaks cables showing the dealing of the USA in Afghanistan, Julian Assange was feted as a hero of the freedom of information and the right for people to know what was going on.

Then he was accused of rape by two Swedish women and an extradition trial commenced which then sucked in celebrity endorsement and the threatenings that if he was extradited, then he would immediately be sent back to the USA for trial.

Since that time, the trial has continued on and the celebrity endorsements have fallen away. Finally, the verdict came through and he will be extradited to the sound of general silence and a few vague reports on the matter.

Does anyone really care about it, should we care about it given what was released or has he had his 15 minutes of fame?

He seems to be a bit of a tool, alienating most of the people around him. The concept of wikileaks will live on in some way shape or form. It should have a lasting effect on how government personnel comport themselves.

He wishes he was yesterday's new. That would be sweet. He his pretty much a petty footnote already.

I always thought he was a joke, and now I'm happy to not have to think about him any more.
