Time passes for the next few hours as the group readies itself. The sounds of the city change from the bustle of the day to the quiet of the night as what shops in the areas close for the night and those gangs in the area, looking to make their mark, come out to play.

Looking through a grimy window, the sky has turned black and the glimmer of the street lights illuminate the area. A fine drizzle coming down and keeping people darting from shelter to shelter as they make their way through the area.

    Its' time.

Can you let me know who will be helping to move the generator and who will be opening the manhole?

    Given an absence of input...

An hour or so after dawn, the group moves out:

Terawatt takes to the air looking out for any trouble watching a few people move around and then it's clear. Giving a signal Flicker and Kamaria head out and start lifting one of the manhole covers. Between them and the tools provideded they quickly remov the cover and open the way down. A foul stench comes up through the gap making all cover their nose to try and avoid it.

First down through the hole is Lovelace with an assortments of lights and she reaches the bottom of the ladders safely. Looking around it is as dark as expected with a stream of effluent running at the bottom. Standing on the ledge at the side, the only thing that can be heard is the slow gurgle of the sludge and the sound of rats in the distance.

Fitheal and Funshine come out carrying the generator as fast as they are able across to the sewer entrance. With the aid of some ropes looped round it, it is slowly lowered down to the bottom. Once resting there, it is closely followed by Funshine.

As the remaining four prepare to descend, from above Terawatt sees a group of four thugs heading in your direction. They will probably enter the street and see what is going on before you all manage to get down.

Funshine, lets lower the generator and be ready for the thugs. I duck behind the generator and turn myself invisible.

Lovelace will duck into a dark corner, made all the darker with her Lantern Earrings. If the fur starts to fly, she'll focus all the light possible on the thugs and none on the party; should keep the enemies blinded and spotlighted as targets.

Just to clarify a few things.

At the bottom of the manhole, in the sewer are Lovelace, Funshine and the generator. At the top, in the open, but preparing to descend are Fitheal, Flicker and Kamaria. Terawatt is providing air cover.

The street is fairly open and if the thugs walk around the corner the three will be noticeable gathered in the middle of a street around a manhole cover.

Apologies if it was not clear.

Has Terawatt warned the others of the approaching thugs yet? If not, Kamaria will simply be preparing to climb down with the others until they realize.

Audible warning right on its way... Terawatt fires off a Stun at the group to distract and possibly incapacitate them. Then duck behind a building after drawing the thugs away, and circle round to the manhole at street level.

While Terawatt is distracting the group, Kamaria starts descending into the manhole and suggests Fitheal and Flicker hurry as well.

From above, Terawatt fires off a stun at the group before the arrive round the corner. They first they notice of it is when the crackling of a small electrical storm surrounds them. Two of them drop immediately, jerking away as their bodies course with electricity, two others shake slightly but are not quite as affected as they dive into cover before peering round to see what fired at them.

In the street, Kamaria and Fitheal drop down to the botton where the others are waiting. Flicker climbs down just a little way and moves the cover most of the way back across the top of the entrance.

The thugs appear to have no idea where Terawatt is, and he can head back to the entrance without being noticed by them. Between himself and Flicker, they head down and close the cover.

You have all made it to the bottom of the sewer, safely at least with the generator. Lights are turned on as people's eyes get used to the dark, adjusting to the little illumination that exists and hearing the strange noises that echo through the sewers.

Kamaria will attempt to use her Animal Control to seek out what sort of vermin the immediate area around them contain, and see if she can take control of some. A few rat noses and ears as lookouts wouldn't hurt either, she reasons.

Reaching out with her mind, Kamaria feels the touch of several rats in the area. She can feel their chittering stop as they acknowledge her presence and she gets a cold feeling of hunger from them.

Fitheal calls forth his power again and with Funshine and his double lift the generator.

Flicker and Lovelace light up the area with torches and Earrings.

From the downloaded maps of the sewers, heading south at this point would head towards outfalls into the bay, going north heads under the city and towards the major sewers and sewer plants.

With the lights being shone around, the generator is lifted up out of the muck and the group starts heading north through the tunnels following the maps that Lovelace downloaded. Further up is a branch from a main tunnel with a large sewer plant in one direction and the general main sewer running in the other. Kamaria can almost hear the group through the rats she has communicated with as the scatter frmo the noise you are all making.

As the rats begin scattering, do they notice anything else in the sewers? Maybe some hint of groks?

As Kamaria starts thinking about the groks, she gets an understanding from the rats of what and where they are. The rats tend to avoid those areas as the groks will try to eat them.

Meanwhile, everyone keeps moving at a slow pace through the sewers carrying the generator. Reaching a main sewer, the sounds beging to echo through it as it opens out and multiple openings can be seen as other sewer entrances join it.

Can Kamaria tell anything about the multiple openings from her communications with the rats? Perhaps some are favored by the groks or have other notable activity?

Checking her plans, Lovelace sees that it doesn't mention any of the wildlife in the sewers just how the pipes link together. At least you will not get lost.

Kamaria can feel the fear from the rats of one of the tunnels, and she can hear their thoughts that whatever is down there will probably eat her and her pack. Giant lizards several times her size are settled in that area.

The tunnel Kamaria points at looks no different to any other sewer entrance that anyone can see. A steady trickle of effluent running from it into the main sewer, but otherwise quiet.

As you reach the mouth of the sewer tunnel, it is slightly narrower and the walkway is only wide enough for one person without having to step into the effluent, which most of the party have been attempting to do.

As a light is shone down, there is no sign of movement or other sound, although the rats tell Kamaria, that the groks are that way.

Can I get a marching order please

Kamaria is content to take the front or close to it, as she may have a slight edge in warning on what might approach them. It would be a good idea to have a similar level of awareness on their flank as well.

Just for note, the sewer is a bit tight for flying and taking flank will mean wading through a stream of effluent, if anybody is interested in that?

Flicker is happy to go behind Kamaria at the front of the generator carrying it along.

Around Kamaria's feet a couple of rats are now scurrying nervously.

As the group heads down, Kamaria notices that the rats are no longer responding to her and indeed have taken off in a different direction back tot he main sewer.

From the lights shown out in front, the sewer can be seen to open out into a much larger area, filled with detritus and with walls that appear to be broken in several areas. Also present are a few very large moving reptiles, which perhaps could be better described as small tanks.

Three of the monsters are in the area, feasting on some rubbish, each one about 10 to 15 feet long and armour plated. From back in the tunnel they do not appear to have noticed yourselves or the lights you carry. Each of them looks quite dangerous.

Kamaria is tempted to see if she can communicate with the lizards, but resists trying. She'll continue forward since she's in the lead, checking occasionally to see if there are any further rats or perhaps insects to use as simple scouts along the way.

Reaching out Kamaria can find no rats in the vicinity.

Flicker looks down at the groks, "I was told the entrance to the undergrounders was around here somewhere, but I really don't fancy going close to them, they look dangerous."
