Default What was your favorite cartoon as a kid?

I'm not doing a poll because there are too many options, and a different list of options for different age groups, so please just post your answer.

I'm thinking of this because I'm taking the kids to see the Yogi Bear movie that was out last year, it's at the dollar movie this week. I don't think my kids actually know who Yogi Bear is, though...as my husband said, this movie was made for the parents.

When I was a kid I really liked Road Runner. Beep beep.

Bugs Bunny. Beyond a doubt. He remains my hero to this day.

"Of course you know, this means war".

ETA: BTW, my kid, who had no idea who Yogi Bear was, really liked that movie.

Animaniacs, hands down. Even though I was 12 when it started. Tiny Toons was an awesome precursor, but Animaniacs reigns supreme.

I loved many when I was a kid, Animaniacs certainly was a favorite.

But I woke up dutifully every Saturday morning to watch this:

Bugs Bunny easily. After Bugs comes Scooby Doo I guess.

Much later the Animaniacs came out and I think that is the second best cartoon of all time. My kids like it the best. We own all the DVDs that have been release so far of Animaniacs. I was already in my 20s when Animaniacs and probably watched it as much as any kids. When I saw my niece and nephew I would end up talking about the Animaniacs with them. It was one of the few cartoons like the classic Looney Toons that works on 3 levels. They are entertaining for pre-school, kids and adults. So many of the references in Bugs and Animaniacs flew over kids heads but were really there for the adults watching.

The very colors of the Warner Siblings is ideal for babies to add yet another dimension.

    Bugs Bunny, sure.

I was (am) a pretty big Flintstones fan.

    Really hated Scooby Do.

    Speed Raver. Loved Speed.

OMG, I forgot about Speed Racer. LOVED him. And Prince Planet, too.

By the way, AG, they are showing Peppa Pig here now, and my kids LOVE it. My daughter can do a killer impression of Peppa's accent.

    I have to choose.........

Hmm, in amongst X-Men, Spiderman and his amazing friends, He-Man/She-ra, Bugs Bunny, Visionaries, Centurionsm, Bugs Bunny and associated Warner brothers, Hanna Barbara with Yogi Bear, Flintstones, Jetstones, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Cities of Gold, Dangermouse, Count Duckula, Batfink and too many others to mention.

Out of the lot, probably, Batman: The Animated Series

Gigantor, Marine Boy, Speed Racer, The Porky Pig Show. Arabian Nights from the Banana Splits show. The Road Runner ( I always wanted the coyote to get the bird). All the Warner Bros cartoons were good.

Bugs Bunny. I always lost it when I watched the one where he, as the unseen cartoonist, made Daffy Duck's life a living hell. "This is a closeup?"

Daffy would be a distant second. Loved the one where he kept trying to prove to Friar Tuck (Porky Pig) that he really, truly was Robin Hood. ""HO! HA HA! GUARD! TURN! PARRY! DODGE! SPIN! HA! THRUST!" *WHACK*

He-Man, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Spider-Man and Friends (especially those few episodes where the X-Men showed up as guests).

    I do.

From the Rainbow Bridge of Asgard...where something, something, roar...

They behold in breathless wonder, the God of Thunder, Mighty Thor!

That's about all I remember, though.

Yes, he had a great theme song. That's probably why I remember it...generally speaking, superhero cartoons were not my thing.

Thor, at least that Thor, was part of a collection of Marvel comics made into a series of incredible low-budget cartoons.

Submariner, Captain America, Thor and Hulk were part of the rotation.

"When Captain America throws his mighty shied, all those who chose to oppose must yield!" Pretty bad-ass theme song, too.

Those were some awful cartoons as I recall. I mean they made Superfriends look high end.

Probably a toss-up between Gummi Bears, Tail Spin and Rescue Rangers.

I wasn't even a remotely cool kid, okay?
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.

Well damn, now I'm going to have that cursed Gummi Bears theme song stuck in my head all day. Dashing and daring, courageous and caring/faithful and friendly with stories to SHAAARRREEE ...

I was more of a Darkwing Duck kind of girl, myself. We're not going to mention the age gap between the two of us, right?

As far as things I watched at a time when I didn't have to defend my love of cartoons, I was a big fan of GI Joe, Transformers, and Jem and the Holograms.
So, I'll whisper in the dark, hoping you'll hear me.
