    Default New (old) Schlitz.

Wondering if anyone here has tried the new "60s Formula" Schlitz.

Drank nothing but the new (old) Schlitz yesterday, and it made me sad.

Sad because common American beer once had some real character, if this stuff
does, in fact, resemble the old stuff.

A little sudsy, with a little bite, and it tastes like, well, beer.

It's good. And very good when very cold. It is so much better than
Bud or Miller that I wonder what happened to beer drinking in America.

I suppose to expand the market brewers had to improve "drinkability", which
is mostly code for water down.

Anyway, this is the stuff your great uncles used to get pounded on. Lucky them.

I haven't tried any, but I think I might go pick some up for tonight and give it a go. I'd tried things like Coors and Bud when I was young and foolish and determined that I didn't like beer at all. Later on, I got into microbrews and beer that friends had made themselves and discovered that I actually loved beer far more than just about any other alcoholic beverage.

There's something just incredibly satisfying about a beer with real flavor to it.

You might like Schlitz, then. I bet it's good pizza beer.

The funny thing is that Bud is stronger % volume in the US than here.
