Default Do you bite your fingernails?

I'm a habitual fingernail chewer, either from stress or because I hate having long fingernails. I don't do manicures and my fingernails are always uneven.

Anyone else a bite them, or does everyone else have perfect fingers, well manicured and painted, etc. etc.

I used to, now very occasionally.

I never have; I have other fidgety nervous habits.

My fingers still aren't particularly lovely, though. I keep the nails short and my cuticles are usually jacked up in some way.

I've never bitten my nails and always get grossed out when I see nibbled nails. Really, really short nails give me the heeby jeebies, for some reason.

    I do it. It's just a habit.

When I was younger my parents would apply this clear nail polish stuff with a bitter taste, a product solely designed to break this habit. Didn't stop me, I enjoyed having control over my own nails more than I disliked the flavour. Ahh, sweet, sweet rebellion.
Something tells me we haven't seen the last of foreshadowing.

I grew to like the taste of that stuff. Still bite my nails.

When my children were babies I would bite their nails off. It was a lot easier than trying to cut tiny nails with clippers or scissors.

I do. And I have a manicure on Saturday, and there's nothing for them to work with.

I never, ever have, and am a little baffled that people do this. I just don't get it. But it's a free country - to each their own!

It is not really a conscious thing for me, just a nervous habit I guess. Its not like I particularly want to.

Biting is my manicure. I have a file in my desk. I do not habitually bite them, though.
