    Default The Perfect Picnic

Summer is coming and with it warm, weather, blue skies and the chance to eat outdoors on the lawn.

Would you stick with sandwiches and fruit squash. How about a few savoury dishes and maybe a bottle of lemonade. For the refined perhaps a cheeseboard and a bottle of wine?

So what would you include in your perfect picnic?

I'll bring the large tartan rug for it all to go on.

A small, cliff ringed lagoon with bottomless visibility, a waterfall for climbing and diving and swimming underneath, and a small rock platform for sunning, surrounded by the sweet scent of ferns and cedars. (Temagami's Paradise Pool)

Blood orange Italian soda, provolone, brie, mozzarella, sharp cheddar, grapes, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, honeydew melon, almonds, candied pecans, fresh baked sourdough, and slices of salami. Soft grass to lay the blanket on, just enough of a breeze to keep cool, and a view of sparkling, clear water.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.

Clear river, willow trees for shade, a peasant loaf, some pickles, english cheeses, cold cuts and salad with a bottle of champagne then strawberries and cream.

So far, I'd be more than happy to picnic with everyone in this thread.

This is pretty sweet. Kill the salami and pack me a few cold bottles of Polish beer.

Cold chicken, an array of mild and sharp cheeses, fresh French bread, cold grapes and cherries, yogurt, Doritos, my wife's famous ginger cookies, cold milk and water, and as Zuul said, "Soft grass to lay the blanket on, just enough of a breeze to keep cool, and a view of sparkling, clear water." And a big leafy tree overhead. And ant repellent.

    When do we leave?
