    Default Music Festivals

Each summer it seems that more and more music festivals are appearing and it seems to be a rite of passage for a lot of teenagers to go to them.

So how many people here have been to one and what are your memories of them?

I've been to smaller ones mainly and more folk then rock. I've helped put on many of the folk/environmental festivals and some Jazz & Blues festivals. They are a lot of fun to attend and rewarding to help with. I recommend it highly.

I went to Voodoo Fest back in October. Paying the same for a day pass as I've paid for some of my bigger concert tickets was pretty fabulous.
So, I'll whisper in the dark, hoping you'll hear me.

I've been to some folk festivals, but that's it.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.

I attended the Guinness Flaugh two consecutive years back in the Nineties.

It was terribly produced both years, but the acts were great.

One year it was staged in a flooded sports arena, everyone's feet were soaked, the previous year it was hot as hell and they ran out of water. People started drinking Guiness and Harp instead, pounding it like light beer, and passing out all over the place.

    It was cool.

(One sucky thing about there being three stages is having to choose who to see. I can't recall who I had to pass up to see John Lee Hooker, but the other act was good, too. )

I guess I do. I found about 10 different spellings for these events, all, unfortunately, pre web.
