    When you go to their 'Browse DVDs' page.

    According to them, I go for "Critically Acclaimed Gritty Suspenseful Movies" and "Violent Action & Adventure from the 1980s".

    Steamy Thrillers Featuring a Strong Female Lead
    and
    Dark Independent Dramas

    I can see the dark indie dramas, but the "steamy thrillers" one has me baffled.

    Both my wife and I have movies in our queue. Netflix thinks we like, in order:

    Critically-acclaimed Witty Documentaries
    Emotional Military Movies based on real life
    TV Shows
    Children & Family Movies
    Suspenseful Conspiracy Sci-Fi & Fantasy

    Other than the omission of contemporary comedies and historical dramas, yeah, that's about right.
