Default OK, Hollywood. Get over yourselves.

I'm not an awards-show watcher, but after all the talk about Ricky Gervais hosting the Golden Globes, I watched a rerun of it on Bravo.

Seriously, famous rich people, get a grip. He was funny. He poked fun at you. Boo hoo hoo. If he'd made those jokes about politicians (well, ok, Republican politicians) you would have thought he was Hi. larious.

So, STFU and go buy some designer clothes or a nice new car. It will make you feel better.

I know, right? I can't believe how pouty they're being. He's a comedian and known to have a biting sense of humor, particularly when it comes to fame and inflated ego. None of what he did was a surprise.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.

I Chris Noth. He made a comment like, "well, if you're caught in a hotel room with a hooker, of course they're gonna make fun of you!" Like, duh!

I generally agree, but I thought his dig at Robert Downey's old drug issues was unimaginative and kind of unfunny. To treat one of Hollywood's bigger comeback stories (like, ever), as if he was the same 1995 punchline was a lowlight of Gervais' evening.

True, but Downey took it in relatively good humor, I thought.

Gervais' Extras is amazing but I can take or leave most of his other output, including that speech. But hey it got copy!

Well, what were they expecting when they got Ricky Gervais to host it. More of the same from the previous year.

If he gets invited back for a third year, expect him to be really nasty.

It's all about the ratings isn't it.

Apparently he has been invited back for next year.

Like I said, expect him to be really nasty.

OMG, that's awesome. I think it will be on my list of things to watch next year.
