Default London Unions on strike again

And so it came to pass that the Unions were afraid they might have to give up some perks of the job and join the real world for a change given that everyone else has had a pay cut/freeze, lost perks and general worried about their job.

As a result, the TSSA and RMT will be bringing the London Tube for a standstill for another 24 hour strike, followed by the FBU (Firefighters) planning a longer strike over Guy Fawkes Night.

Nice, real nice. Great way to ruin it for everyone.

Plenty of handwringing from the unions about job safety but reality is that they are protecting their own. The Firefighters are refusing to move to a new shift pattern, they say because it will allow the bosses to make job cuts. Most people think it has something to do with making it easier to have a second job on their days off.

Guys, the 70's called, they want their anarchy back.

I cannot be bothered to swear about them anymore, they have lost a lot of goodwill and support, but they couldn't care less.

    I hope they get broken.

    Two things on this.
    1) Doesn't Guy Fawkes Night involve bonfires? If so they are total asses.
    2) In general the US seems to have gotten through laws against public safety workers striking. They are always a bad idea.

We are down to teacher unions being unreasonable in times of economic crisis.

Well the tube strike started and both sides are claiming victory against the obviously foul intentioned other side.

    It really is getting pathetic.
