I scored 15/15, but took two lucky guesses. Call it 13.

I got 15/15 as well. Apparently only 11% of respondents got the last question right. Huh.

I didn't take it, but confirmed one or two of artifex's answers for her.

I am pretty non-religious and expected to do terrible. I scored a 14 though. Most of the questions were extremely easy for even the non-religious I believe.

What the heck is the First Great Awakening though? Never heard of that one. (Rhetorical, I will be looking it up on Wiki now.)

    14/15

Only one I missed, apparently, was the legality of reading from the Bible as an example of literature in public school.

14/15. I also have no idea what the Great Awakening is.

I will note, however, that the concept of Nirvana also appears in Hinduism, although I believe not as prominently as in Buddhism.

Not compared to the average American. Did you check out the results charts?

I got thirteen as well. I misidentified the majority religion in Pakistan and I did not correctly identify the Great Awakening preacher. I know Charles Grandison Finney and that's about it. Wait, who was the guy who wrote Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God?
I don't think so, therefore I'm probably not.

15/15 and only the Great Awakening question was a guess. That was painfully easy.

15/15. A lot of them were really, really easy I thought.

I didn't know the Great Awakening answer, and I just assumed the Bible could be quoted as lit.

I took a Bible as Literature class in college and that was one of the things we discussed, so I knew that one. The Great Awakening had come up in another lit class, too. I blame the fact that my adviser and frequent professor was something of a theologian himself. It made class fascinating as he explored the religious influences and references, though.

Better to have a theologian for a professor than some of the professors I had back when I was trying college the first time. I was taking a Shakespeare class at a state school with a guy who spent more time on perceived Biblical references than he did on the actual text of the plays. My step-mom (who's been known to teach Shakespeare and other Brit lit classes on the collegiate level) all but told me to go into class and call him out.

Ugh. No, Professor Baldwin wasn't anything like that. He'd give background on anything that was important to understanding the cultural context of what we were reading, but it was just background. It was always factually correct, appropriate and added to the reading instead of distracting from it. He clearly knew a great deal about world religions and really delighted in getting to share what he knew, but it was sharing, not preaching. He was fantastic.

Apparently there have been four Great Awakenings in America's history.

I wonder which had most effect. The original or the remakes

13 and these are all general knowledge questions. I'm shocked that so many don't know these. I screwed up on Pakistan and the last question.

I got 14. I don't know anything about the Great Awakening, but the other ones I thought were incredibly easy.

    15/15 without any difficulty.

I'm a little surprised that people had so much trouble with the Pakistan one, given the role of Pakistan in protecting Afghan Taliban. As I recall, Obama talked a lot during the candidate debates about Pakistan's geopolitical significance and the need to shore up American-Pakistani relations for that very reason. But I guess the debates were a while ago ...

Yeah, since the whole point of Pakistan was to be a Muslim country, and since the Taliban are impossible without Pakistan, I found this surprising also.
