Default No more Glass and a Half for Cadburys

Stupid EU metricifcation rules mean that Cadburys cannot put their classic slogan of "A glass and a half of milk in every bar." Somehow this falls foul of rules because it is not a metric measure.

It's not as if it is accurate any more as they don't sell ½lb bars of chocolate anymore, but no, the slogan has to go.

    Stupid Bureaucracy.

Than again, it's going to be crap chocolate anyway since Kraft took it over. You'll be replacing the sugar with corn syrup making it taste like crap.

    Stupid American Chocolate makers.

I agree, stupid Hersheys with their grainy sub par chocolate-like candy.
They weren't singing....they were just honking.

    Hershey's is terrible.

I like Hersey's Special Dark. The milk chocolate standard Hershey's no, but I really like the Special Dark.

Ghiradelli is good American chocolate. (Though they are currently owned by Lindt.)

Ghiradelli is pretty good, but Hershey's is pretty much gag worthy. I liked it okay as a little kid, but having grown up and eaten some decent chocolate I just can't stand it any more. It's more like overly sweet wax than chocolate.
So now they are just dirt-covered English people in fur pelts with credit cards.

OMG, I just found out that Dagoba is owned by Hershey. Well, I guess that's a point for Hershey, since Dagoba chocolate is awesome.

And Green and Black's is owned by Cadbury, now Kraft. My worldview is being shaken by research.

OMG, their Lavender and Roseberry flavors are to die for. 10 points to Hershey.

The Dagoba with hot chili peppers in it is wonderful too, and not just as an exotic "dare" food; it's one of my favorite chocolates for eating out of hand (which, admittedly, I almost never do).

This is blasphemy! If they mess in any way, shape, or form with the cream eggs I will be over the moon enraged.

I usually only eat chocolate from a local shop. But I find myself very much enjoying fruit candy covered in chocolate lately. Like chocolate orange rings or chocolate gummi bears! Although both are very bad for you; also, expensive!

Since this is in the Thunderdome, I hope I'm allowed a slight shift from the OP. Still about chocolate.

I just saw this chocolate bar in the store the other day and knew I had to post about it somewhere. This looks like the right place.

    Vosges Milk Chocolate Bacon Bar

It's supposed to be real bacon with chocolate. I don't eat either because of food intolerances.

Does that sound yummy to everyone else?

I haven't had the bacon bar, but Vosges makes damn good (if ungodly expensive) chocolate. Their Naga bar has curry and coconut and is just scrumptious.

Well bacon and chocolate go with just about anything. Why not each other.

I've always thought of bacon and chocolate as either/or kinds of things. You either slap some bacon on it, or you dip it in chocolate. I'm not sure how I feel about the two together.

I've had Cadbury products from the UK. I didn't see anything remarkable about them, nor would I describe them as significantly better than Hershey products. Cadbury cream eggs are just about the grossest candy in the world, IMO. The candies I've had that I would describe as remarkable were home made or artisan made. Anything mass-produced is going to have concessions to ease of manufacture, transport, and shelf-life made over quality.

I'll take Cadburys over Hersheys anyday and I have no idea what you are talking about, Cadburys Creme Eggs are delicious.

I agree that the best candies are defintely artisan made.
