As I just told one of our players in a PM, I don't like to post twice in a row, so that you as players have a chance to do what you want without too much GM nudging. But I'll nudge if I must.

Still no definite word from any of the three prospects for Dr. Brownlock (or another medico). For now I'll keep running Brownlock as a nonplayer character.

I love this - ST pixel art. See how many you recognize (there's a key at the bottom): http://johnmartz.com/trexels

Since I still have no good candidate to take over Dr. Brownlock permanently, WES has kindly offered to do so on a temporary basis. (As it happens, she played a doctor in a ST:VGR-era writing club of which we were both members awhile back). Her Mellophant character, Ens. Hayes, is still in surgery back aboard the Yorktown and doesn't have much to do otherwise, so I'm glad to have her take over Dr. Brownlock's character at this time. We'll see if this becomes a permanent assignment. Thanks, WES!

    Greetings, Shipmates!

I'll do my best with Dr. Brownlock for now. Promise to brush up on TOS medical stuff. My favorite TOS character is Bones. And I have a medical background in real life, so....

    Not exactly typecast as Uhura....

I'd never heard of the movie Truck Turner (no surprise, I suppose, me being a white boy and all). But I found these clips interesting:

I had no idea that Nichelle Nichols ever played such a character. Pretty cool. And see the dialogue cleverly reused here:

Wow! She could've gotten through Starfleet Academy in two years with that kind of attitude. Sheeeeit....

just to clarify - do you "act" for the redshirts or do I?

You act only for your own character - what she says and does (or tries to do, if that action is complicated, depends on her skills, or depends on the actions of another character). You do not "control" any character other than your own. Collins commands the Security detail, subject to the authority of Delaney, who commands the entire boarding party.

"Among them" is the key phrase. Collins is still under the command of Delaney, whom the Captain appointed to command the entire landing party.

And I should've written Collins, and not Hayes, in post 308 above. Now corrected.

Reminder, I'll be gone next week and won't be back until Saturday the 23rd. Please just assume Delaney is frustrated and just wants to make forward progress.

Love the cat pic, anyrose! Definitely Starfleet material. Big fan of kitties, anyway. Have two of them myself. They'd never make it through the Academy, though.

I don't think that was necessary. *I* may know what's been going on the last several posts, but Collins does not. All someone had to do was say "So-and-so responds to Collins and brings her up to speed" Sedation? Really?

My intent was that a mild sedative would keep Collins calm and still. Wasn't thinking "knocked out". Sorry if my post was misinterpreted. Planned to post again with Brownlock finding out form Delaney what was going on so the doc could fill Collins in. Remember, Brownlock wouldn't know what's happening with the rest of the boarding party either. Also, it's not easy playing a character you didn't create. To be honest, I'm not a big Brownlock fan. He seems (from earlier posts, etc) to be a "Nervous Nellie" type -- which I'm trying to portray. Once again, my apologies for any confusion.

I'd *like* to wake up and stay awake so that I can participate in the adventure, but that can wait until next week - I'm busy the rest of this one, and I'll be out of town for the weekend.

Welcome back, Pleonast! Just wanted to let you all know how much having this online Trek group means to me. Dealing with diabetes complications right now. It's been very hard. I so look forward to reading your posts and sending my own. Gives me something fun to enjoy. It's a great escape from the harsh realities of my life at the moment, so thanks to everyone!

That's cool that it helps WES.

I hope the Docs figure out whatever it takes to smooth out the complications. Where's McCoy with a magic pill when you need him.
