Postum. It would be like the good old days of growing up in a Mormon household all over again.

I recall Bart and Lisa visiting Selma and her sister, and the only beverages in the house were Clamato, butter milk and Mr. Pibb.
Awesome spinster refrigerator lineup.

Dear sweet Jesus. A Clamato and Jaeger.
Neat, of course. With a rock sugar swizzle stick.

I went with the postum, too. Mm, molasses and wheat bran.
Mmmm butter milk. As a plus it's good for cooking to add a little variety to my island fare.
Welcome to Mellophant.
We started with nothing and we still have most of it left.

Postum, of course.
With it's grain base and high sugar content it'd be a chinch to ferment.
I'm torn between Sanka and Postum. If I have an adequate supply of calories and nutrients from food, I'll take the Sanka as the least unpleasant of a very unappealing lot.
On the other hand, if I need nourishment from my beverage, Postum would be a much better choice. If I can have unlimited amounts, it will help keep starvation at bay. I wouldn't mind it if it didn't taste sweet, actually. (I hate sweet drinks.)
grain + sugar + time = beer
Postum = grain + sugar
And there's plenty of time on a desert island, assuming you don't get attacked by smoke monsters and polar bears.
Ugh. I'll have Diet Rite, and curse the gods, at least until I can get my desalination plant made from palm fronds and coconut shells. Just thinking about Sanka and Postum makes me think about that horrible aftertaste of aspiring-to-coffee beverages.
Well, I enjoy drinking buttermilk anyway (when I have it. I don't buy it as a beverage, honest.) so I went with that. Especially real buttermilk, rather than the cheap variety that is basically skim milk + chemicals. Yum.
Imaging the Postum marketing folks using this poll in their ads.

I'll be drinking water it appears.
I had to look up Postum. I did not know such a thing existed.
Nor did I.
And I am not looking at this collection of Mr. Coffee Nerves images.
Diet Rite, thank you.
I chose Diet Rite. The stuff is actually pretty bad, but it would remind me of Diet Pepsi, which I like, and it believe it is caffeinated.

Diet Rite. I can rip the can in half and slash my wrists with it so as to avoid the DT's.

*looks at list* Cruel, man. Cruel.
Hang on. Did you say *desert* island? Because I think you have to have water or some water-like substance to make Postum. Hmmm.....
Sanka. The caffeine dependancy rules all.
They weren't singing....they were just honking.

You know what would suck? Warm Diet Rite.

Yes - but none of the prescribed beverages are going to be good at blood temperature - which is how I imagine they'd be served on a desert island.
Wow, I'm the only clamato vote. Programmed by too many delicious, delicious Caesars in Canada. If I could have the clamato AND fermentable Postum...
