Simple enough, really: I want you to name the first three cult movies that come to your mind, or the three you most want to think about.

Does The Princess Bride count as a cult movie?

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Death Race 2000
Rocky Horror
So looking at this, Rocky Horror is the big one, I'm glad Killer Tomatoes had another vote.
I would add Heavy Metal, Wizards and the Wall as my next 3 though I think of those as more Stoner Midnight Movies than Cult I guess.
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes has got to top any list of cult movies, it's just so......weird. And awesome. Killer Klowns also should get top billing, and I'd have to expect Meet the Feebles to be on any self respecting cult movie list.
And Carnosaur. And Evil Dead. And Angel Heart. And Jacobs Ladder. Donnie Darko too.

Withnail and I
Quatermass and the Pit
The Wicker Man - and I definitely mean the superior original version not the remake.

"I won't kill for money, and I won't marry for it. Other than that, I'm open to just about anything."
-Jim Rockford
Rocky Horror
Princess Bride
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Those are the first three I thought of. I do not necessarily endorse any of them, however.
If I could have added a fourth:
Lair of the White Worm

I love Lair of the White Worm. My mom would never let me rent it when I was a kid, but when we were in High School the local mom and pop video store went out of business and some friends and I bought out the "Horror" section for a few bucks and help schlepping stuff out of the store. That was the first one I watched. Then Kiss of the Spider Woman.
I've seen almost every horror movie made between 1977 and 1990 at least once, if not more. We had hundreds of videos.
